Should yellow cards count for points againsta team

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

in the event of a draw or close result should yellow cards issued by the referee count for points against a team.
You see teams getting 8/9 yellow cards and once a fellow gets his last tick he is taken off .
The other team may be behind on scores and the pudding is being knocked out of them.
I feel that if each yellow card issued counted for a point that it would end the thuggery on the field

Well Moly and Denver I am to state that I read a Hogan stand posting on the 20/4/2008 by a Mr Ramsbottom of where he stated that game between Liffer and Leiterkenny Gaels was stopped.
I noticed that my old sparring partne from Donegal a Mr Onthefence stated that all Liffer players are boxers.
Both of you take a few moments to read the 61 different opinions if may enlighten you as to why I state that referee would be busy in Liffer.

Denver I was not at this game.
But Leifers record speaks for itself.
Did a county player get an injury at Leifer some years ago. ?

It's hard not to laugh at the irony of someone complaining about the typing errors in match programmes in a thread and then putting up those last two comments. And for the record, it is almost impossible to imagine yellow/red cards being used as a scoring system

Bonus points should be awarded for RED and YELLOW cards... Its Gaelic Football, not Basketball or Soccer (the game that was established in the UK...) Hard to beat a good slap in GAA

DenverDonegal, you have failed to respond to me in rtelation to how busy a referee would be in Leifer.
I still await your reply.
And as a matter of fact as regards Leifer winning a Junior Championship, I understand that crossborder cooperation always played a big part in how far Leifer went in competitions(excuse the pun)

tomsmith,, what are the facts about lifford, you look at the cards issued to players this year and liffords arent even in the top ten... and as for crossborder the only person involved from across the border is the manager, hes from the same county as the donegal manager so there shouldnt be a problem there... dont be coming on here talking bull,if you want to talk fact then state them...

Molydagreat for clarification , on the 19/8/2008 P O Neill a poster that I understand to be from Leifer , indicated for the first time that he agreed with me on yellow cards to count as scores.
He them went further and added that it would put too much pressure on referees.
in response I stated that indeed for a referee who was in charge of a Leifer game that he would be quite busy.
I state that from facts that I have read on Hogan Stand in relation to a game where some very emotional postings have been posted after a Leifer V Letterkinny Gaels game.
This is all factual.
I can also state that cross-border cooperation existed for a long number of years in relation to GAA teams.
So Molydagreat and silent Denver indisputable facts are there
