JayP Philly is hardly an angel now in all fairness pal he was lucky to be still on the pitch himself, plus what can Connolly do if philly calls him out at the Vincent's dug out ? He was already sent off so where did you want Connolly to go? The whole Ballymun team ran at Connolly after the McMahon incident and he didn't back down from any of them.

1510237 Firstly, well done to Vincents. It was visably clear Ballymun were the walking wounded and had it went to extra time I imagine Vincents had fitter bodies to carry them home. Saying that, the scuffle and treatment concerning Connolly and McMahon took at least 5 minutes and the ref played one minute by my watch, 2 mins acccording to Dub Match Tracker.....why was there not about seven mins of time added? On the McMahon/Connolly incident. Felt McMahon was harshly treated. Was on his knees when Connolly initially made contact and was lying prone, face down when Connolly decided the first contact. Sickening behaviour from what is supposed to be one of Dublins leading lights. Im a neutral....I wouldnt want him playing for my club nevermind my county after what he did. Deserves at least a year long ban. Clondalkindub.....McMahon was on his own....Connolly was standing behind the Vincents masses shouting at McMahon. Connolly looked a bit windy if ya ask me. Easy to act tough when the entire Vincents bench is holding one man back. And easy to hit a fella off guard or lying injured. Vincents dont need a guy like Connolly, Mossy was superb and a model GAA player throughout his time in a Dublin or Vincents jersey. Best of luck to Vincents....I hope you win Leinster without that excuse for a sportsperson.
spot on there jayp i agree with nearly everything apart from mossie quinn yes a great servant but for me bottles taken frees last night only took the guarnteed easy ones. linesman has alot to answer for after sending philly off dont blame philly one bit for being incensed after the match

I didnt think the admin would let a description of the incident through, but yes as stated above it was a stamp.
Connolly stamped on McMahons head while McMahon was lying face down holding his face on the ground. Sickening behaviour. To do that to a Dublin team mate. McMahon got a second yellow after receiving a stamp on his head.
I can see why he was volatile.
Connolly should be removed from the Dublin panel in my opinion, hes had enough chances. No need for a player with his history....Id lose before holding this player up as a county star.

1510240 Vinnies will be hard pressed to win Leinster without Dermie. Lomans indeed might be worth a few bob.
said the same thing myself last night afterwards, they rely on him for everything

1510246 I dont think there is anything to stop them on their side of the draw, Connolly is a fabulous player and a huge miss but I suspect they will scrap through sunday and then beat winners of Summerhill or Newtown BLues without him.If he gets one month, which i think he will, he will be back for the final.
without connolly they are average believe me,they rely on him for everything especially concerning mossie quinn,he needs connolly playing to give him the ball, they will struggle on sunday big time,if lomans are any way good they have a great chance.

hes not an angel agreed but mossie was looking for him to be sent off imo, anytime ball went in he was whinging over nothing. connolly ran a mile man, altercation with aguy whos already on the deck thats cowardly and was straight into dug out before philly was over philly would eat him alive haha. whole ballymun team didnt run at him ,it was only one player and he was never going to strike him as hes not that type. be some craic when dublin team gets back training id love to see philly mark dermo

Have to say Dubs I've spent 3 seasons trying to get my head around, given how many talented forwards are at your disposal, that you persist in starting this very volatile character

he was holding his back on the ground before he stamped on his head that was the reason why he was lying on the ground in the first place

Connolly is an outstanding footballer any county would be delighted to have him plus his disipline this year was excellent.

Lomans are 9/4. Good value bet. Dermie is worth 5/6 points to Vinnies.

I see the 2 young brothers on the pitch last night in Parnell Park are now on Youtube...
Great entertainment. The bigger one kept fouling his smaller faster sibling but the crowd kept cheering for the small guy and he kept coming back for more and at the end got his revenge.
They got some ovation from the huge crowd there last night.
Apparently they are nephews of Ger Brennan....

Ya wha??? Only for him we wouldn't have two AIs in the last 3 years, sure, the guy has issues, hardly alone in the GAA world now is he!! Anyone else think he should be taken off the panel???

Not taken off the panel but it is about time he started showing more maturity.
He is always going to be a target but better players ignore such things and are the better player for it...

I thought he showed a real maturity throughout the year and showed us what he can do, I love Philly, but he's as aggressive as the next guy at least. It wouldn't take much to get either of them going, yes Diarmuid can be over zealous but I think he's come on a lot this year!

i dont feel he should be thrown off the panel but if you consider jim gavin says himself hes all about discipline and it seemed with dublin this year he had gotten through to connolly but aas i predicted last week his new found calmness would come under its biggest test against ballymun and it didnt pass the test.consider we have cast aside another player who has natural ability in mark vaughan for discipline issues, you wonder when connolly will ever learn? philly plays on the edge no doubt about that but last night he was wrongly sent off he did nothing in the incident and was given a second yellow card for it.
