1508847 Cork County Senior Hurling Final

Midleton 2-15
Sarsfields 2-13

Intermediate Hurling Final

Kanturk 2-22
Éire Óg 1-12

Attendance 11,556

Great result for Midleton....Shanagarry, Ballinacurra and O'Loughlin Gaels ;).

Heard Lehane was suberb. There won't be any whiskey distilled in Midleton for a week.

thought there was alot more at the county final than 11,500. Lehane is the best club hurler in Cork if not Munster. First man to score 2-10 in a county final since christy ring i'm sure.

I get Shanagarry and O'Loughlan Gaels, but Ballinacurra? (Ballinacurra, Midleton, I presume, you mean.)

Thought the ref was poor for both Ballymu and Vincents, some very soft frees for both. But the free for Vinnies at the end was laughable.

Tg4 messed up again what a game had bit of everything.

Yea, cos the Corcaigh final and the game in Nowlan Park were so dull and predictable. You tell 'em.

Just reading about Jason Whelans ineligibility for Ballymun tomorrow. He would be available if the game was saturday.

Why do the GAA still do time bans instead of game bans. A one month ban at some periods of the year mean you wont miss a game, others mean you miss 5 games! Hardly fair to players is it?

I posted a similar point on the Dublin pages JayP.
He will miss 4 games due to a 1 month ban and others will previously have missed barely 1.
This needs to be addressed going forward.

Also, the Dublin winners will have had to play 4 games in 14 days if they beat their Westmeath counterparts this Sunday.
Back out again the following week.... Club fixtures and backlogs need to be sorted out once and for all....

Agree totally Fionn, I feel its very frustrating for fellas to miss so many games knowing other guys who were sent off for the same offence probably missed one game. Its an antiquated form of discipline in my opinion.

i wonder would he have had any case for appeal owing this replay by normal grounds should and was fixed for next saturday but owing for the leinster championship had tobe brought forward.
also is there any rule on the maximum amount of games a player should miss in a month through suspension

Too late for an appeal now Hill I would imagine... Wouldn't think it would stand up anyway.

No rule as far as I know regarding max number of games a player can miss through a 1 month suspension..

Should be another cracker tonight.. Roll on 7.45pm...

Should be a great game alright!

Whelan misses out but the Vincents fella sent off the last day starts.....?

As I said....an antiquated discipline system. Game bans should be in place, for red cards and double yellows leading to reds.

Totally agree JayP.

Needs to be seriously looked at.
