What a result for Castlebar. Not many gave them a chance but fair play to them. Be great to see them to all the way 20 years after loosing the All Ireland to nemo.

Realdub Im all for Dublin and I know GAA can only be a success if Dublin enjoys success. Lived in Dublin for a while so I promise Im not anti Dub. I would however like for you guys to take a good dose of perspective. Vincents (and others in Dublin) prob have more coaches at their club than Summerhill have at theirs. Good luck to dub teams but making a deal out of winning is like a bully gloating over beating a kid half his size.

I don't see whats super about a club that has prob 3 or 4 times the resources (players cash and coaches) in beating a club with much smaller resources. It was an expected win rather than a super one surely????

what good is having more coaches then players? they cannot go on the pitch and score and win games!
some people have a weird perception that dublin clubs have a coach per kid or adult nearly haha its gas its no differant to any other county I dont see where dublin champs beating meath champs resembels a bully beating a kid half the size at all?

Come off it lads. Clubs St Brigids, Ballyboden Kilmacud and Vincents have resources v few clubs can match. The more coaches the more coaching the more coaching the better players surely. Again Im not anti Dub just pointing out beating a club that is a fraction of your size is not a super win surely. Goliath beating David for me nothing super in that

Vinnies where missing two of their star players and yes they where expected to win but they where playing the Meath champions and many people including myself thought that Summerhill could cause a suprise.

I'm by no means a fan of Dublin, but I'm getting utterly sick of hearing this "Anytime Dublin win anything it doesnt really count, cause look at the billions of euros, super talented coaches and gold plated clubhouses the GAA showers upon them".

I'd be really annoyed to be a Summerhill player and have people essentially saying "sure you shouldnt have bothered showing up, you were always going to lose because it was a Dublin team you were up against".

As for people saying Dublin/Dublin clubs shouldnt celebrate winning, what should they do? Work hard for entire the entire season, giving every last ounce of sweat, blood and effort, then if they do win just stand about solemnly thinking "well, this was always going to happen, no need to be happy"?

Got to say the hill performed today and with a little more savvy could have won. They were surprise winners of Meath SFC . But did themselves proud. Most positive aspects Gillespie looks he has come of age, rispin looks like he could be heading onto Meath panel. And now that its all over mod can get into the real business,

So when Dublin teams win we should say "another expected win by the Dublin champs" , is that what you want? It was a super win without there two Dublin county players. Honestly man we don't have more coaches than everyone else, do limerick city teams have way more coaches and players than limerick county teams id be surprised if they did but you'll probably say they do to back up your point but your completely wrong and over the top.

Hold on now I never said it doesn't count. I never said it shouldn't be celebrated. I already said for the GAA to be a success Dublin must enjoy success. I just don't see how its a super win given the respective sizes of the clubs.

Clondalkin I am familiar with Dublin clubs. Trust me they have way more coaches than anything in Limerick. There are professional (hurling granted) coaches (more than one) in at least one club I know. Not all Lk city teams have more coaches than county teams but one in particular does although they are all volunteers.

Surprised Vinnies got through again (even if they do have 100s and 1,000s of coaches..........)

It'd be some achievement if little old Portlaoise (!!) somehow upset them in the final but I think they're in with a shout...........

No need to apologise, I don't gloat, never did, check out my previous posts if you like, without players of the caliber of Brennan and Connolly it WAS a superb win, Summerhill are no minnow!
