Cafferky. Again a close call. ROC was exposed by Dublin's all out attack up until the final. Thought he did fairly wee against Mayo though. Cafferky had a dinger of a battle Brogan and McAliskey for Tyrone gave him some trouble, fairly solid all year though.

Cafferky - Rory O'Carroll was taken to the cleaners once too many this year I'm afraid.

strange apart from the kerry game were none of the goals were his fault dublin only conceeded two other goals in the championship
one to kildare when johnny cooper slipped at the start of the match and the other in the all ireland final when stephen cluxton wa caught too far out from goal.
dont see how o carroll was taken to cleaners once never mind too many times?

Cafferkey played poorly for a half a game this year. O'Carroll played well for a half a game... On performance alone, it isnt even a contest. However, o'carroll might get lucky with the usual GAA idea of 'the all ireland champions must have the most all stars' along with maybe connolly. One thing for people to consider is this: if mayo had won by a point instead of dublin, and both lads had performed exactly the same, o'carroll wouldnt get near it.

Cafferkey for me. However, we might see another gaa favourite with one of them getting picked at corner back...

Ger Cafferkey for me. Have to agree with Tom Cunniffe not getting a nomination - don't think he'd have got it on here had his own couty been ruled out of voting. Decent enough footballer but no All-Star.

A biased vote for Drew Wylie. After not starting the championship, he ended up one of our best players, marking McFadden and O'Neill out of it in the Donegal and Tyrone games. Good to see him get the recognition of a nomination, but Cafferky will win it.

oh yes haha the usual crap
dublin won the national league, leinster and all ireland championship and got 12 nominations
clare won one trophy the all ireland championship and got 13 nominations
i dont see you making that point?
o carroll played well all year how you can say he had one good half all season is ridiculous
not saying the mayo lad didnt play well either but your bias is clear that you come out with a comment like that
when dublin apart from the kerry game only conceeded 2 goals neither where anything to do with o carroll being at fault

Not a valid comparison. It was a great hurling championship but the fact remains that there is way more strength in depth in football. 11 counties have football All Star nominees, it's only 7 in hurling. It makes Dublins achievement as a team all the more impressive but it doesn't make them entitled to more All Stars if players from other counties had excellent years.

i was making a comparison to if it was the other way around the master would be jumping on this quicker then you could get your laptop switched on.
i agree with you in what your saying and i feel the hurling should be spread a bit more too in fairness

Ger Cafferky certainly, ROC was exposed too many times this year even by players from sub standard Division 3 teams, he will learn well from 2013 though and be better for it
