We topped the league convincingly then bet Mayo in the Semi then Tyrone in the final to win the league outright, then we walked tru Leinster hammering Westmeath Kildare and Meath, then we beat Cork Kerry and Mayo to win Sam the hard way yet a lot of people don't think any of our players deserve poty. If it was any other county there'd be 12 players from that team picked as all stars and only players from that team picked for poty, but cause were Dublin we will never get the credit we deserve, sad but true. clondalkindub (Dublin) - Posts: 9926 - 23/10/2013 10:04:16 1504710 Link 0 |
Get over yourself clondalkin, Dublin have many fine footballers and they have worked as a team unit, because of what they achieved this year WHY should there be one stand out player? I mean how simplistic can you get.Colm Cooper was the stand out footballer this year, with Sean Cavanagh not very far away. Seems that you Dubs want to have your cake and eat it, not content with sweeping up all available trophies you now insist that the POTY MUST come from your county. brendtheredhand (Tyrone) - Posts: 10897 - 23/10/2013 10:15:18 1504718 Link 0 |
Good man clondalkindub. Nobody's arguing with fact that Dublin are the best team. Explain to us which Dublin player was better than Cooper this year? It's a joke that Keegan and Cluxton got nominations for POTY ahead of Cooper. pdempsey (Mayo) - Posts: 1313 - 23/10/2013 10:22:48 1504722 Link 0 |
I love Gooch I started the thread about him but the facts are in the second half he went totally out of the game against Dublin and that's when Maculey stood up when we really needed him to win us the game. clondalkindub (Dublin) - Posts: 9926 - 23/10/2013 10:29:38 1504726 Link 0 |
And in your view that was sufficient for Macauley to be crowned POTY? brendtheredhand (Tyrone) - Posts: 10897 - 23/10/2013 10:33:12 1504727 Link 0 |

Stephen cluxton for me stood up from January till the end of September and was the most consistent player in the country for the entire year once again kicking the winning point in the final and his kick outs continue to evolve the game hill16no1man (Dublin) - Posts: 12665 - 23/10/2013 12:09:58 1504782 Link 0 |
Cork fell over the line in '10 they didn't top the league or win the league they didn't win Munster and bet Roscommon ,were blessed to beat Dublin and were lucky to beat Down, but I've always said it was a disgrace that not 1 Cork forward got an all star that year. clondalkindub (Dublin) - Posts: 9926 - 23/10/2013 12:15:44 1504785 Link 0 |
Just on colm cooper the man didn't feature in the league at all nearly for Kerry and twice was well held against Dublin opposition after his club walked through Munster Sean George of Ballymun kept at bay and in similar situation Kerry walked through to the quarter final and when cian o Sullivan switched onto cooper he won every ball that went I don't think he actually scored off either player hill16no1man (Dublin) - Posts: 12665 - 23/10/2013 12:16:58 1504786 Link 0 |
