We topped the league convincingly then bet Mayo in the Semi then Tyrone in the final to win the league outright, then we walked tru Leinster hammering Westmeath Kildare and Meath, then we beat Cork Kerry and Mayo to win Sam the hard way yet a lot of people don't think any of our players deserve poty. If it was any other county there'd be 12 players from that team picked as all stars and only players from that team picked for poty, but cause were Dublin we will never get the credit we deserve, sad but true.

Get over yourself clondalkin, Dublin have many fine footballers and they have worked as a team unit, because of what they achieved this year WHY should there be one stand out player? I mean how simplistic can you get.Colm Cooper was the stand out footballer this year, with Sean Cavanagh not very far away. Seems that you Dubs want to have your cake and eat it, not content with sweeping up all available trophies you now insist that the POTY MUST come from your county.

Good man clondalkindub. Nobody's arguing with fact that Dublin are the best team. Explain to us which Dublin player was better than Cooper this year? It's a joke that Keegan and Cluxton got nominations for POTY ahead of Cooper.

I love Gooch I started the thread about him but the facts are in the second half he went totally out of the game against Dublin and that's when Maculey stood up when we really needed him to win us the game.

And in your view that was sufficient for Macauley to be crowned POTY?

Kerry had less possession in the second half that day, it had nothing to do with Cooper being "totally out of the game". He still created everything for us in the second half with any ball he got and he would've probably goaled only for ye're own Cooper.

Any get your Dub asses over to the player of the year thread, MDM is taking a hiding, he needs back up :D

This is what you are up against...

clondalkin, so when 2 kerry lads mix up a kickout, and because of this a player gets a flick on to a ball, he then deserves the poty award? He didnt do all that much else in that period to be fair. Also, if gooch's second half counts against him, then surely MDMC's first half should do the same? It is all very biased stuff. McAuley wasnt even dublin's best player on the day ffs. O'sullivan and connolly were better.

Nobody is disputing that Dublin were the best team, collectively. However POTY is based on individuality. In my opinion and its the opinion of many others on HS, Gooch was POTY. How do you determine anti Dublin bias from this??? Dublin have many great players, but how many of them were consistently brilliant in every game this year?? Maybe Gooch wasn't ultra consistent in every game, but when he shines, nobody can touch him, for this reason his displays stick out above all others. As someone has already alluded too, he was quieter in the second half of Dublin match due to lack of possession.
BTW, Cork won the AI in 2010 and got a total of 4 all stars(I think). So take of your blue tinted specs and try to look at this objectively..
Before you call me anti-Dublin, I live here, am married to one and enjoy watching Dublin play in both codes.

Stephen cluxton for me stood up from January till the end of September and was the most consistent player in the country for the entire year once again kicking the winning point in the final and his kick outs continue to evolve the game

Cork fell over the line in '10 they didn't top the league or win the league they didn't win Munster and bet Roscommon ,were blessed to beat Dublin and were lucky to beat Down, but I've always said it was a disgrace that not 1 Cork forward got an all star that year.

Just on colm cooper the man didn't feature in the league at all nearly for Kerry and twice was well held against Dublin opposition after his club walked through Munster Sean George of Ballymun kept at bay and in similar situation Kerry walked through to the quarter final and when cian o Sullivan switched onto cooper he won every ball that went I don't think he actually scored off either player
