Hey if Mark Mchugh got an all star for right half forward last year then what's the problem??? Mchugh's roll is to sit in the full back mark no one and be marked by no one yet he still got a half forward all star.

No Master, you couldn't do that with O'Shea, he's not a good enough footballer and is definitely not too good to leave out, I'd squeeze O'Sullivan into any team he's that good a footballer, just my humble opinion :

So bascially, regardless of how they actually done over the course of the year, you can flout all the rules if they happen to be a good footballer. In that case we should all be voting for Seamus Moynihan at chb.

The reality is the team is a selection of players on their performance this year. O'Sullivan played in midfield. The three best midfielders were McAuley, A. O'Shea and S. Cavanagh. O'Sullivan is a good player, I was saying that very thing last year when he was getting criticism for the tough time michael conroy gave him in the semi, but the reality is that isnt the criteria the team is selected on. You cant 'squeeze guys in', or in other words, ignore the rules, when you feel like it. He played in midfield, therefore he is down as a midfielder.

Now in fairness Master I can squeeze in who I want, I don't take the All-Stars or 'teams of the year' seriously, they mean nothing more than a sideshow when it comes to winning the All-Ireland, which is what it's ALL about. It's a bit of fun for me with some fishing thrown in, enjoy!

TheMasetr is really going to great lengths to prove his point. This of course is due to wanting Vaughan to get the spot.

Relax man, youve made your point. Stop trying to sway other peoples decision.

Anyway im goin for COS

This is where it get's a bit messy, if we are going by the book you'd have to give it to Vaughan, but if we're going by performance and trying to squeeze in all the best performers possible you'd have to say COS is ahead of Vaughan. Whoever sets this up either has to restrict players to their main position or not, they seem to be giving a bit of leeway right now though.

That is the thing though, Im not that bothered if vaughan gets it. There isnt a whole lot in it, but all of them deserve it ahead of a lad who played there for half an hour.
Dont judge me by your own standards.

I'd agree with Wayne and Master, Cian however well he played didn't play for long enough this year at centre back to be considered for a team of the year in my opinion.

Ah Jazus boys, Admin has changed the rules/guidance on this wee exercise twice now (3 times if you count the back track from not voting for a fellow countyman) and we've only reached No6.

The thing that was going to set this team aside from the official all-stars side was the original stand that nominated players would have to have players the majority of their football this year at the position they are nominated for, where as we know the all-stars team will fit popular players in anywhere (ie Sean Cavanagh being nominated at half forward when he started every Championship game in midfield).

Allowing votes to be cast/re-cast for Cian O'Sullivan (fine player that he is) at number 6 means that, that difference has now been lost. So as the Dragons would say on TV, I'm out. Just can't see the point in continuing to vote when the rules keep changing and we have a complete lack of consistency in how the team is selected.

All star team of the year should be the position you played in not because you had a fantastic year.
Cian O Sullivan shouldn't be allowed be picked at number 6 for the simple reason he didn't play a full championship match there he always lined out at midfield. Same with Cavanagh he had a brilliant year at midfield but gets nominated for half forward even though he never played there.

Ger Brennan. Arguably Dublin's best player in the league. Had one poor game in the championship alright, against the ginger genius, but scored the point of the game in the AI final and was a contender for MOTM.

This page is quickly becoming a farce, its not going to be anywhere close to the actually all star team (not that it is meant to be) but its not going to be anywhere close to the actual team of the year either. its just turning into sour mayo supporters and mouthy dubs trying to talk up how great there players are, its a joke.
