The Master why the need to say that when you can clearly see he's walking the vote?

Someone still upset over his hero getting over looked again?

Moomoo is that a bit of humour from you? I honestly didn't think you had it in you. The Roc will win the real award.

Just like you said he would for the last 2/3 years?

I know it's a joke he hasn't but that will be put right this year.

Dessie Mone has had a fantastic year and any other he would probably have a great chance of an all-star, but unfortunately the HB line is extremely competitive this year. Keegan takes this I'm afraid.

Congrats to Lee Keegan of Mayo who readers voted the top right half back in the country for 2013. Dublin's James McCarthy likewise polled extremely well.

With Dessie Mone and Tomas O Se also in the running the race for the number 5 shirt had a number of high quality contenders.

So to the pivotal centre half back position. Our nominees are Peter Harte of Tyrone, Peter Crowley of Kerry, Mayo's Donal Vaughan and Ger Brennan of Dublin.

As per usual a 10pm closing time and voters can nominate other players. And again please be impartial.

Just because hes up for POTY doesnt mean he'll win an All Star/ In 07 (i think) Declan Sullivan was and didnt win an All Star

moomoo, I never said anything about an all-star, I said the best team of the year. With the all-stars you are talking about a panel who will probably hand Rory O'Carroll the fullback spot this year. All bets are off with them lads. My point was that surely it makes sense that the 3 lads up for player of the year, would be in the best 15 performers in that year, unless you had 2 goalkeepers or something unusual like that. The all-stars selection seems more interested in making sure the all ireland champions get the most players in the team, working down from there, with the token gesture of representing all provinces and as many team as they can, regardless of how deserving they are. Chris barrett was better than colin walshe, and for my money donnacha walsh done more than diarmuid connolly, while cian o'sullivan only played at centre back for half an hour. But walshe will get in because they will want to give one to monaghan, and connolly and o'sullivan will get in because dublin have to have the most in the selection. Their criteria is all wrong.

Peter Harte is my pick of options given. (Cian O'Sullivan would be my first choice but he's not listed). Please don't vote Vaughan in(as I expect will happen). He is not a good centre back as he can't defend, hold the middle or pass the ball.

Yeah Vaughan if I stick to the nominees, Cian O'Sullivan otherwise.

Ger Brennan gets the vote. He had one off game all year
and that was against the gooch and in fairness to him
the gooch is hard for anyone to mark.
But besides Ger it would have to be Cian O'Sullivan

Yes but why the heck should Cian O'Sullivan be voted in at centre half back, He might have played 40 minutes in that position over the year.

no outstannding candidate
the best job any 6 did all yeat was COS in the second half V Kerry
basically nullified Gooch who had been on fire

its this kinda thing that makes your selection process flawed lads

if i had to pick one.....Crowley. Impressed me

Cian O Sullivan has to get onto this years team and he has no chance of getting into the midfield pair cause Mayo posters will all vote for you know who so my vote for number 6 goes to Cian O Sullivan outstanding all year. Admin gave you a choice of players to vote for but did say you could vote for whoever you like.

Strange in that there are no real stand out players at centre back this year.

Ger was badly exposed against Meath and Kerry. Cian only played centre back for maybe 40mins so can't really do a Brian Whelehan on it! Don't really rate your boy Vaughan too highly either.

I'll go for Peter Harte from those nominations.

In fairness lads, if higgins wasnt available for corner back then o'sullivan cant be available for centre back. As sean cavanagh cant be available for wing forward. It is the same across the board, and is probably the fairest way to select a team. It is hard luck on o'sullivan, but then it is hard luck on a lot of midfielders this year.

pdempsey, you arent being fair on vaughan there. Peter harte isnt a great tackler, in fact he is probably a forward, but he played the position therefore you judge them on their performances. Vaughan, rightly or wrongly, probably did put in the best performances.

Also, is the rule still in place where you cant vote for your own county?

have to say list has no real one to vote for
cian o sullivan for me he played centre half back as much as donal vaughan did all year if your being honest
defo cian has been one of my favourite players all year.
pace, abilty, brilliant footballing brain and versatile he has it all.
great to see him finally get an injury free year.
