Left full back - I would go with Colin Walshe (Monaghan). He was outstanding throughout the championship. Barrett was immense in Mayo's semi final win over Tyrone and was probably their best defender in the final but the Sigerson Cup winning captain it is.

Scraped by Mayo what game were you watching? We bet them with 13 men from the 57 minute onwards we were 3 points up in the 72nd minute of the game it was the most comfortable one point victory you'll ever see. We bet Cork by 5 it should have been at least ten and bet a great Kerry team by 7, we deserve more all stars than were getting but hey were Dublin what else would we expect from the rest of Ireland

Clondalkindub-as far as I know, Dublin had 15 players on pitch for all of the All Ireland final so stop with your 13 man guff.

Congratulations to Monaghan star Colin Walshe who gets the nod for our left full back position. Chris Barrett of Mayo polled second.

Our nominations for the right half back spot are another Monaghan man Dessie Mone, James McCarthy, Dublin, Lee Keegan of Mayo and the recently retired Tomas O Se from Kerry.

Again there is no problem with other nominations. Voting stops at 10pm.

Yesterday we changed our rules and did not allow voters to pick a player from their own county. Will go back to the original format where no county restrictions exist.

But please, be fair, let us all try and put our own county bias aside and choose the most deserving player.

Well done you, you really battled with your bias to pick a POTY nominee.

James McCarthy came good as the season progressed and was very prominent in the business end so he get my vote!
