All Ireland Hurling Replay

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Regardless of the result tomorrow, I think the replay is a fitting end to a fantastic year of hurling. Thrills, spills, pulsating encounters throughout and a corner back scoring the equaliser in the final. That is how unpredictable this year has been.

From Carlow to Antrim to Clare and Cork, I salute all the young men who give so much for their county's cause and provided us with such thrilling excitement throughout the year. Good luck to both teams tomorrow and may the best team win it.

Bookmakers finding this one tough to call, like most of the rest of us, if pushed I'd go for Cork, Clare might just have left it behind the last day.

I predict early goals, ensuring the game doesn't follow a similar pattern to the last one. Could be a torrid time for defenders. Prediction for man of the match, Conor McGrath.

Almost there now. Last minute preparations complete. Hopefully a good nights sleep and its All Ireland Final day. Still feel miffed about a 5pm Saturday time, but we all just have to get on with it. In one sense win or lose it will almost be a relief to get the whole thing over with, I've been playing the game in my head ever since the final whistle of the drawn game. Re watching it in New Jersey I'm astounded that its not being shown in Irish Bars there, I've been in the States on All Ireland days and its normally a huge event amongst the Irish Community. I've seen hundreds of lads troop through Southy in Boston dressed in their County Colours heading off to various venues to watch games. I don't know of any links myself but it has to be available online. I know lads who watched earlier Championship games online so surely the Final will also be available.

Is the game getting much hype back home? Its hard to tell when you're living abroad, but I've been looking at the online sports sections of the usual Irish media outlets, and I'm not seeing much reference to it in the main sports sections. Is that to be expected given the nature of a replay, or has build up/hype been more subdued than people expected?

thanks corkcelt ill keep looking for one. yes the nigt before hard to settle down 5 p.m start is difficult but i believe croke parc have laid on entertainment from 3.30 to try and get people in early which could be a good thing instead of a stampede at 4.30 opefully it,ll be a cracker fancy cork by 2 points. i cant see clare hitting 25 points again and hopefully jbm has sorted out the half forward line wiped out of it in drawn game.

30 minutes to the throw in.
I think Clare have a bit more momentum since the came from behind and tied on that last point as the sand ran out of the hourglass.
