From todays Irish News!
What is the story with all the Tyrone beards? There is a rumor going about that it has something to do with an inspirstional story Mickey Heart told one night at training about the biblical character Samson.
Samson grew to manhood with the strengh of many men, but it turned out that the secret to his special powers was his uncut hair, healthy hair. Without it his strengh was ordinary.
Apparently the players made a pact (but wanted to be original so went for facial hair). Think about it. Three with beards just to see of mayo is followed up by at least five for a demolition job on the Dubs.
If Tyrone come to Croker on All-Ireland final day with a full compliment of beards, then god help there apponents.
Spotted at the weekend prowling round the Glenavon in Cookstown with a mach 3 in her hand was a Wexford 'Model' named Delilha! It could be a close shave if she catches ye!

MICKY HEARTS BEARDED ARMY DI DI DI DI DI...DI DI DI DI TYRONE!

Both me and dergboi are going to grow beards in support of the lads!Anyone else going to join in?

Dont know what all this diddly i di di is about, perhaps I'm getting too old......

This beard carry-on is gonna put me on the road, The credit crunch is finally going to hit the barbers. I doubt I'm gonna have to have a word with mugsy about putting a colour in his or something.

All joking aside, My memory of 2008 will forever have Joe McMahon turning round to celebrate his wonder goal. As one poster on the main board put it nicely - More beards than a woodcutters convention!

Thanks for that clarification there ballbhoy, the word "di" just reminded me of what was once cool among our elite footballers now they're all going retro on me and are turning their backs on the old clippers and peroxide. Sure isn't mugsy nearly back to his colour at birth. Haven't seen much of him lately on the chair or on the field either for that matter...... But if I were you I'd think long and hard about waxing the oul under-carriage there lad. I'm seriously thinking of setting up a motorbike shop, It won't be too long till they'll all be heading south on their Harley Davidsons to the matches, the future could be bleak for the Big yellow Chambers.

N_Armagh_Gael. - Declan is still playing club football for Owen Roes. Spillane used to refer to him as "the bearded one". Maybe he'll just call us the bearded-ones this year if we're lucky.
