Lookin forward to Clough / Lavey this evening, think the lough will justify gettin into the senior championship, Mc Veety should have a big say, most exciting young prospect on the scene at the present time

ny2013,
Seeing you're from Crosserlough you must be very happy this evening.
Lavey kicked the game away, could have been out of sight if they could sore. Crosserlough had 14 behind the ball most of the time, can't see that working now that they are about to face stiffer opposition. Young Smith was the stand out player for me, now he's one for the future.
Who will pick up Mackey, is more the point! He is capable of serious damage, very hard game to call.
Lacken are improving with every game, wouldn't like to be meeting them.

It reminded me of a game of chess last night when lavey attacked, only every time they got a chance to score it was the wrong man on the end of the move or they missed a scoreable free. Crosserlough do tackle hard and are ultra commited in everything they do. They have a system and by god the stick to it, not pretty but who cares! Young Pierce Smith was very good for such a tender age. I was talking to a Lavey man after the game and he said that Gerry Smith was in hospital for a few days with a virus or a bug, he wasnt too sure. He was busy when he came on but if he was only out of hospital, your health and well being comes first. McVeety was quiet apart from taking every free from the full backline to the 45! Crosserlough wasted a lot of time when they were ahead with kickouts and changing free takers, very cute tactic and fair play to them. Best for Lavey were Feral smith (3), Cullivan (8) (before he got sent off) duke (14). Best for crosserlough were Johnny crowe (8) colin lynch (7) pauric mckiernan (3) pierce Smith (15).

Not pretty to watch but you utilise what you have in the best way possible; Cullivan good in the air but kicking distribution was poor; I dont think Lavey scored a point from play in the second half despite owning possession; Standard of refeering was poor and inconsistent especially in the second half. Neither team are semi final standard;

I meant Pierce Smith.
The Lavey Smith player was good for them. Agree Ramor have one of the best grounds in the county. Apart from the traffic chaos after!

So its Lacken v Ballinagh in the quarter final. Will the county board appoint a ref or a un peacekeeping force for this game?

Castlerahan 1-10 Ramor 0-9

We can all stop pretending that Ramor are a top team now.

Hard work paying off for Ramor
22 August 2013
Ramor United manager Gary Farrelly believes that they are reaping the rewards from the hard work that they have done so far.

A moral boosting win over defending champions Mullahoran last weekend has enhanced Ramor's credentials as pretenders to the throne as the continue their impressive form to date.

Farrelly explained to the Anglo Celt that they have put in a huge amount of work this year, but stressed that they have to keep that level of work going.

"We're working hard and if we work very hard and work to the level we train at we should be there or thereabouts," stated Farrelly.

However, Farrelly knows that Gowna will pose a huge threat in the next round when the sides clash.

"They (Gowna) are probably performing the best they have over the past six or seven years. They are very strong down the centre and I was very impressed with them," said Farrelly.

"They out-played Kingscourt who I felt were among the top two or three teams in the county, and they blew them away. There's no doubt that Gowna are a big task on Sunday."

I remember reading this thinking Ramor are been way too over confident and setting themselves up for a fall. I even heard talk that Ramor were going to give Ulster a good rattle this year! There was to much hpye over them and there excellent league form now counts for nothing.

Wow, Eatmyfish,
Would love to know what club you are, Ramor are better than tonights display. I for one am sorry they are gone, would have been interesting.Plus I am after losing money on them! Agree they may have underestimated Castlerahan. They changed their team and game plan from what I remember, strange. The goal changed the game, from what I saw, it was not a free in the first place that led to the goal, but then again a penalty should have been awarded to C Rahan earlier. Ramor couldn't buy frees tonight. A few their NO.10 missed could have brought it closer. aND they kicked a few into goalie. Mackey scored a decent point as well as his frees. His counterpart Brady was clinical on the frees also.
Castlerahan Crosserlough semi would be very interesting pairing.

Ramor played poorly and castlerahan were by far the better team on the night. Ramor seem to get caught up in their own hype and don't have the guts to get through to the next level.

As A neutral watching the C`rahan/Ramor game there was no doubt the best team won but the game as a spectacle was very poor. Not helped by the ref who was very inconsistant and with both teams putting large numbers behind the ball for the full hour.I cannot understand where all the hype surrounding Ramor came from.Dispite the scoreline C`rahan never looks like losing and are well organized and by the way the championship is panning out will be hard held.

Crosserlough have got to a county semi final beating Killygarry and Lavey twice. Quality.

Castlerahan deserved winners last night. Low scoring game overall and it wasn't due to a tonnes of chances missed by either side. The game got bogged down between the 45s and I think the time of the evening coupled with the days weather conspired to ensure that this was never going to be a classic. It's a shame because it should have been. The pitch surface was in great nick but greasy and led to a lot of broken ball.

Having said that it was a well contested game.

If Jack Brady and James McEnroe are not shackled Ramor will win it. If Castlerahan want to win I feel the best man to man mark Jack Brady is Flannagan but then he is stopped from moving forward and causing trouble.
I think I will go with experience and tip Castlerahan to win by 4 points. Shame they had to meet now it would have been a great simi final or even a county final but not to be sadly.
The standard we have seen to date makes it really a hard match to call.

I think you will see I was close with my call for this match

Yes torrential rain just 45 minuets before the match did not help at all it did leave the surface very greasy but saying this Castlerahan adapted and just had that bit more experience as I thought they would.
Should Ramor stay together they will improve and will have learnt from this heart break loosing in the quarter final. Big difference knowing there is no back door and it adds that little more pressure.

Ramor too negative. Club football can t afford to bring forwards back defending behind the ball. Hardest game plan ever!

Ramor midfield were a disaster.. Should have been switched. Both of them in first half.

Castlerahan play lovely brand of football it has to be said .

Still hard to call winner have to see ballinagh.

Finally the refereeing was poor . Mc Carville has been best i ve seen this year
