Lets hope if Walsh is back he doesn't have the same bad effect om the Gaels as he had on a good settled Cavan minor team when he was fast-tracked on in an Ulster semi-final...he spent the whole game jumping where there was no ball at all...!!!!

Sure If you were from Kill why were you on here slagging Joe McQuillan? Sure he is the only thing of note to come out of Kill since Pearse McKenna. Gaels man without a doubt. Why you are pretending to be from somewhere else we can only guess.

The Gaels were a joy to watch last night. Movement and speed was brilliant. Meehan was top class. The subs they could bring on and ones left on the bench was frightening. The only negative aspect of their play was their targeting of Mackey with a different player every time, forcing him of injured.

It would be safe to say they will be very hard beaten in Cavan now. They did outplay Castlerahan and I have to say tactically Castlerahan were so negative it was ridiculous.
Mackey was not forced off by the way he was injured he was practically unable to walk and the size of the bruising on his side and leg was testament to WHY
I hope he recovers quick so that he can make the trials for the Aussie rules this week but I fear he will not make it.

So he wasn't targeted Sean? Four different players booked for fouls on him.

He was targeted no different than Dunne and Johnston were. The Castlerahan no 4 never took is hands of Johnston all night. He started before the ball was thrown in. Mc Quillan made some very strange decisions.Dominic Reilly was hit in the groin as he was going down the field with the ball went down and got nothing. This led on to the handbags before half time.Johnston got the yellow card even do he was jumped on by two players who got no card.

Lyng put in a brilliant performance he ran the show from the centre half forward position one area where the county team are weak.

No comparison in the way Dunne and Johnston were treated and Mackey.
The hits on Mackey were disgraceful , 4 different players booked for taking him out, and that was only the half of it.
Sad thing is Gaels would have won easy without resorting to this, was all a bit ugly to be honest.

Forget all talk about wide open championships, and new teams coming through, once the Gaels beat Mullahoran and Kingscourt this championship was over, the rest still have some catching up to do.

He was marked tight thats for sure it was remember the county final after all.

For a change Lyng decided to play football and he was brilliant but his inter county day's are over.

Very very strong team last night so the only area they have to work on is their bookings for they got a fair share last night. I am not a gales man but they were good in most areas still a few weak areas to be worked on but I am sure with all the advisers I am sure they will get it right.
Met Nicholas Walsh last night and he is looking in some shape this fellow looks after himself a credit to him for sure.

Thought its been a good championship this year, It looks like Cavan Gaels are favourites now but they weren't up till now so even though they have come through we have had plenty of thrills and spills in this Championship. For several years it was a foregone conclusion but apart from that massacre last night other clubs have been competitive. Castlerahan beat Ramor with a well discipline display and with a lot of luck but they didn't get the rub of the green last night the positives for Castlerahan is that they got this far and there might be a bit more in them? Kingscourt and Mullaghoran will be there or there abouts next year, Ramor are on an upward curve with loads of young talent coming through and will learn from their championship and the manner of their exit, Crosserlough did really well and they too have some young players but will have to wait a couple of years. Gowna are starting to put some good teams together at u12/13 so in a few years they will be back.

This year belongs to The Gaels and Ballinagh so far I hope whoever wins it goes well in Ulster and if its the Gaels they need to get a good run and good luck to them. If its Ballinagh then they don't fear Ulster competition as they have shown in the recent past albeit lesser opposition.

There is a closing in of standards and I believe its that teams are catching up with, rather than the Gales are dis-improving. They were back to their best last night and that's where the rest of us need to be to beat them.

The gaels are not dis improving they were cynical last night against a team lacking a team plan and were exposed in most areas. Their goal keepers kick outs were terrible and the gales said thank you very much every time.
The only team to improve this year were Ramor I expected Kingscourt to be playing in this years county final but they really need a good manager for they have the players with the strength and talent but sadly were found wanting. If I was given the opportunity to pick a team to manage myself I would take Kingscourt for they have a few county titles to collect.
Last night the gales were 100 times better than their opposition and maybe Castlerahan should have had more advisors slotted around the park as the gaels had. Sadly it will be fair to say unless they Castlerahan change things in the upper structure they will never win a county title. Leadership was found wanting big time there are more players on the panel than the county players its that simple. Before I sign off Sean Brady was a huge loss I hope he is okay.

I agree Sean, as I said also they are NOT dis-improving, and that's a good thing, they set a standard that the rest need to aspire to, as for the rest of your post you are on the money
