Mayo V Tyrone

In fairness, TheMaster. Mayo employed the dark arts to perfection most of last season. If you can not admit that you are probably too far gone for real debate

Mayo are easily the better team at the minute but you'd have to question their mental strength, Tyrone on the other hand aren't worried about Croker collapses because they've had far more recent success than Mayo, over the last 10 years Tyrone have won 3 All-Irelands, Mayo have lost 3!

But anyway, talent should really shine through in the end and Mayo should win this one with a few to spare, Mayo by 7+

emmomac, mayo block guys off, slow down frees, and against dublin they tried to kill a game and made a mess of it. They dont go out as a group to get guys sent off, nor do they dive. Those are the types of things I am referring to.

Tyrone are a great set up and they have never been given due respect from elements who have reasons outside football. They are definately not the team they were but they won't lie down for Mayo. If they are to compete they really need to sicken Mayo from the start; get right in their faces, slag, frustrate and wind them up and hit them a few whallops. They can't let Mayo move the ball quickly or Mayo's forwards will just pick off scores. Mayo are a confidence team, if Tyrone can stifle this for a half and be within 2 points of Mayo at half time they have a chance. Tyrone don't need motivation but they are being rubbished, bad mouthed and written off by arrogant Mayo fans and the Southern media. They should give them their answer on the field.

That may be true ulsterman (although not half as common as you think it is), but the thing is, kerry were and are an even better set up, who have brought so much to the game, and dont get respect from northern counties for reasons outside football also. I know which is the bigger evil there, considering what both have brought to the game.

As regards tyrone, of course they wont lie down. All that getting in people's faces and pulling and dragging wont do much good either though because o'connor will just kick the frees over the bar and after brolly's outburst they might pick up a few cards for their trouble for it. What is the good in that? If that is the pinnacle of what tyrone are going to bring then they may as well stay at home. I believe they will try to do more than that myself.

Master,

Growing up in the North in the 70's and 80's Kerry were idolised, really looked up to and admired; Spillane and Jack O'Shea were household names up here. Year in, year out Ulster teams went down to Croke Park, got slapped about and well beaten mostly and sent back home with patronising sniggers and shouts of "Hard luck boys ye are doing a grand job up there" so your accusations of NO respect for Kerry from Ulster are NONSENSE of the highest order. However when Ulster teams started to compete like Tyrone and Monaghan in the mid 80's and then with Armagh, Tyrone, Down and Donegal since about 2000 (Kerry didn't compete for a 10 year period from 87 - 97) actually beating Kerry the excuses, whingeing, moaning and yapping from the Kingdom lost them a lot of respect in the North and Ulster. The fact that Northern sides didn't lie down and roll over to them puppy style like Mayo and Cork didn't go down well with the Kerry boys and much of the media. My own county Antrim even put it up to Kerry in a Championship game a few years back and were denied a last minute penalty that would have won the game for us. Your boys in Mayo and Cork were beaten long BEFORE they took to the pitch in All Ireland finals/semi finals against Kerry. Their reputation and history beat you before a ball had been thrown in.

So your saying theirs no point in trying to beat them using the football?

Indeed no AthCliath but there's nothing wrong with softening a team up first and letting them know your intentions. Sure didn't Tadgh Kennelly write those same words in his book when he boasted about sticking the elbow into Nicholas Murphy's jaw 5 seconds into an All Ireland final? Didn't Tadgh say that Kerry wanted to put a marker down to Cork so is it OK for Kerry but NOT Tyrone or Donegal for that matter? So what is it?

And when did that happen exactly?

yes! take the wool out of your ears and listen to the commentary from RTE Martin Carney will continue to use the phase CUTE! AS! SLY! FOX! RTE will have a huge gaps in the All Ireland Sunday night Game to fill if! and its still a big if! If Tyrone are Crowned All Ireland football champions 2013 no cameras will be aloud anywhere near the Tyrone Celebrations and who would blame them after the trial by TV the broadcaster has seen fit to pursue this campaign its still a big if that Tyrone will be Champions but stranger things have happened in this years championships .

RTE were doing that in the monaghan game, I remember thinking about it afterwards. Its not a very professional way to conduct a commentary.

Joe brolly and rte at it again. Got their flock of sheep to go on a witch hunt against tyrone and now conor gormley is suspended for doing nothing more than a push.
Dont see anything being done to any other team. Pushing goes on maybe ten times again between players, nothing short of a disgrace that gormley is going to miss an all-ireland semi final over this.
