Donegalman There is a hell of a lot of football to be played in this game in order to win it. I think anyone from Mayo who thinks otherwise is setting themselves up for one hell of a disappointment.
Nobody is saying otherwise. But it seems that we appear to be already at a disadvantage because we have shown good form, according to a few tyrone lads... If the tyrone fans, or anyone else for that matter, believe that we are approaching this game any differently to the others, and that the lads will be any less committed, then they are setting themselves up for one hell of a disappointment...

1460234 I fancy Tyrone for this in a classic "I have a feeling" way. The spanking Mayo handed Donegal was never a help. Better off winning close games to build momentum. That was an example of peaking way too early. Add to that the fact that no matter how good their form is, they are always on the brink of the wheels coming off. It's as if the county care too much now. What other county has seen their team lose that many finals? There's a definite psyche out/ head melt waiting to happen in every Mayo footballer. "Surely this is our year, surely we can't lose again". It's a tough place to be mentally for any team.
Ahem, we've lost 4 in the last 10/11 years!

lets all stop this silly sniping and deal with our own teams. Seriously any sound minded Mayo person surely knows that this match V Tyrone will not be a one sided affair like our last 4 encounters in this years championship. Tyrone have the old bite back again and maybe they are not be the great team of 03,05 and 08 but they are still a team which warrant respect across all lines of their team. having went to college and played GAA in Belfast if i know one thing about tyrone lads is they are cute hoars who will DO ANYTHING AND everything to win at all costs. something tells me that this could be a last chance saloon for lads like Conor Gormley and maybe Stephen O Neill so the Tyrone team will move heaven and earth to get to the final for a possible meeting with Dublin (revenge would be sweet for the beating they got 2 years ago) or Kerry who they just love playing in Croke Park. Mayo will have it all to do and a good stern test by Tyrone will really tell us where this teams destiny really lies..

themaster really is a nasty piece of work, but if you cant beat em join em! Beating Donegal was Mayo's AI, now its just a matter of time now before Mayo's annual capitulation, and no better county than Tyrone to do so! Keep the insults coming themaster, keep writing us off, we love it! Total Faith Tir Eoghain abu

No shying away from confidence from me and i repeat, most people including a lot of our own support do not realise how good Mayo are. Best Mayo team ever, will win Sam Maguire at a canter.

we can spout the cliches all day long about how a tyrone cannot be written off but its all rubbish. you can only rely on luck for so long.
TheGateKeeper, in the last 4 years, tyrone have exited the championship through defeats of 5,5, 7 and 10 point hammerings. tyrone were pummelled in each of those games so its laughable for you to mention "annual capitulations"

Well done. It is crazy the delusions some people put themselves under, how they forget some things and remember others, while sometimes referencing things that are not there at all. Notice I reference 1 person, and not all tyrone posters...

LOL, I seem to remember you being the anti-cynicism crusader on HS for many years, up until your own county became themasters of it last year! Then your tune changed all of a sudden! "It is crazy the delusions some people put themselves under, how they forget some things and remember others..." Indeed! LOL

Tyrone to take a hammering. Lets hope we beat them by so much that they don't even bother to resort their usual unsportsmanlike antics!

No I havent changed gatekeeper. I am still against illegal play and I have never condoned it once, nor have I denied we used a relatively small amount of it, badly. That is the difference you see, I can admit it was there in some amount, you never were able to do so, and so lost any credability you might have had. Mayo use it now, as do kerry, cork, dublin, donegal etc. But what are teams supposed to do when poorer sides start to prosper ahead of them by using such tactics? Because that is why it was introduced in the first place dont forget, teams were not good enough to compete. Now everyone has to bring it in to even up the playing field.

brend, I am simply going off the quality within the side. Can you name me a poorer team that won an all ireland? Im not saying it cannot happen, but merely pointing out how they compare with other winners.

How many extra points should Mayo be given at the start of the game to punish cynical Tyrone?

Wrong again themasquerader, I have never condemned cynicism because I am an advocate of a 'win at all costs' mentality, and have always stood by that! I simply highlight that every other county uses cynical tactics also, therefore calling out hypocrites like yourself! That is the difference you see themasquerader, once Mayo became themasters of 'the dark arts', you changed your tune regarding cynicism and suddenly it became acceptable, that is pure HYPOCRISY lad! Credibility indeed! LOL Total Faith Tir Eogahin abu

Nonsense, I have expressed issues with guys cheating the rules, planned group cheating specifically - which is what brolly has made reference to as regards the tyrone minors. Shame it took him 10 years to do it. I still have an issue with this and think any manager doing it is a disgrace to the game. Now you can claim otherwise all you want, but I have always stated that my issue is with group cheating. I have no doubt that you will continue to pretend I said somethign else, but then that isnt a surprise, you pretended it wasnt happening when I put it to you in the first place. Now apparantly it was but it is alright because everyone else is at it now. Hypocrisy you say?
