Mayo V Tyrone

Yeah lillypad. Think ulster is coming to a end of its prominance.
Again its not a jibe either. And my other remark was just a mess. I don't think the future of ulster football is too bright though. Bit like leinster for a decade but it has turned a corner in past few years.

On a brighter note 3 teams left in race for sam and not a nordie amongst them. Good times. Good times.

----------

Gaelic Football is played at a decent level by just 32 Counties in the entire world, and you want to get rid of 9 of them. Excellent move for the sport. Insular at all?

Do this smack of partitionism?

Are you forever British Royal or forever Irish Royal Meath?

AthCliath, he didnt dive at all, he did hold his face though, but then there isnt a game that goes by where someone doesnt do the same...

I guess you just go whatever way the wind blows then cos just recently you were giving the impression that Tyrone were the only practitioners of this kind of stuff. If you are goin to be consistent why don't you at least condemn it for the feigning injury dramatics that it was, done in the moment to get sympathy from the ref for the dirty tackle he had just committed himself. That would be too much to ask though from some of you boys on here, impartiality is not your strong point thats for sure.

Ah will you all not be sooo uptight. Bit of craic and all that.
As for british or irish royal•you tell me after all you are the subjects not me. I'm a proud free stater :)

So will you all relax. Take you beating from mayo like men. And get some guys who can actually play football in its desired way. No more of the dark arts. You can come good again. But ulster is most certainly weakest at the moment.
Take defeat on the chin. Move on. And less of the old politics into football. Its sport.

Btw. Partionist is not a big deal in the south most people I know or studied with are of that mind. If it makes you feel unloved or unwanted. I'm sorry that's just how lots of my generation feel. Not saying I agree. But we have hell of lot higher on our agenda than unification. Which would cost us too much at this stage. Sorry.

We Freestater sell outs don't all feel like that. I for one have loved seeing the cream of each province reach semi-final stage 3 years running. The qualifiers are great but I still love the notion of all 4 of us being represented as long as possible.

I certainly wouldn't be thinking Uladh is in decline; if we play that qf again in 2014, and even more certainly in 2015, my money would be on fir Breifne

No-one saw Jimmy's boys coming pre-2011

In all fairness mate sorry doesn't cut it for a remark like that. There are many people who sacrificed much and have gone before us all, many from Meath I'm sure, who would be appalled at your apathy.Thats your right though so fair enough.

foreverroyal, you post claiming it all to be a bit of craic, and then immediately repost a serious argument for why you are a partitionist. Did you change your mind? :)

It's more the fact that you seem to feel a kind of glee that there are more 'nordie' teams left in the championship. Bit sad really.

What's all this rubbish about Ulster being weak????

One Ulster team in the semi finals, same as everyone else.
Three Ulster teams in the quarter finals, more than anyone else.
Three Ulster teams in Div 1 2013, more than anyone else.
4 of 8 round 3 qualifiers were from Ulster.
2 of 4 round 4 qualifiers were from Ulster.

Hardly a province in the depths!!!

Have to agree am very happy that there are no Ulster teams in the last 3. With the way the Semi's lined up if there was an Ulster team left Mayo were out.

Its ok cos Ulsteritis has caught on.Kerry are converted, played 13 men in their own half against Cavan thats why Donaghy has been dropped, cos they are gonna do it again and don't need a full forward for this type of game plan.Up the Kingdom!!!

No I wasnt. I said tyrone were the worst for it. You see this is what every poster defending tyrone does - they substitute 'worst' for 'only'. I can only imagine it is because they know that tyrone are the worst for it, but feel they have to mount some defence anyway, even if what is being said is correct. You will do the same thing again I have no doubt. I repeat WORST not ONLY.

As regards condemning o'shea, I did. I also admitted it happened and accepted there is no place in the game for it - something you have never done for any of tyrones many incidents. The point here was that vilifying o'shea in the manner that he was is a little unfair as this particular type of cheating happens in every game, even this one. For instance, colm cavanagh got a hand placed on his neck and did a pirouette in mid air just beforehand. Conor gormley, had a hand lightly placed on his shoulder from behind and he pushed himself into it before throwing himself on the ground, getting freeman a card. That is 2 examples of play-acting not only in the same game, but the same half.

I have no problem with Tyrones style it wins games. Just happy Tyrone are not in the fianl at Mayo's expense regardless of the type of football they play.

I didn't see you condemning it but if thats what you are doing fair enough. Its unfair though to make little of the challenge on Colm Cavanagh by saying he got a hand placed on his neck,he got a hand jab to the throat from a very big and strong lad,I'm sure most of us would have certainly felt that.I don't think O'Shea was being malicious but it was a bit wreckless.I will condemn what I think is wrong from any quarter and I have done so on here before. In the same incident big Mc Connell let O'Shea feel his presence and he shouldn't have done that,it was wrong although it was a fairly innocuous shove. And if as you say this particular type of cheating happens in every game, first time I've heard you say that by the way, then why are Tyrone the worst? Is it just because you say so? You boys are pretty good at it yerselves. You got the Galway fella Coleman sent off for an oul handbags incident aswell.Dillon going down like he was hit by a sledge hammer.
