Even if Mayo do win on Sunday I won't congratulate them

We don't need your well wishes Ulsterman. Probably sums up the type of person you are Ulsterman, full of bitterness. I was in Belfast lately and meet some great people up there. You are certainly no reflection of true Antrim fans.

If Tyrone beat us Sunday I will be on here wishing them well because I actually like Tyrone and some of there posters here like seanie, fortyfive, ta32 and Brend are sound.

I'd like Mayo to win.

This is nothing against Tyrone. People of a certain age like me will remember the so close days for Mayo. The semi of 85, the finals of 89, 96, 97, 04, 06. Maybe us lads in Limerick have an affinity or empathy with what the Mayo fan has had to endure.

I've always liked the Northern sides togetherness on the pitch. I thought Armagh would dominate post 02 but it was Tyrone who took football up a level. The thing was while Tyrone were cautious & wanted to do enough in 03, by 05 they had taken their game to a level where the football they produced was too good for anyone. The 08 final was not as good as 05 but another great win nonetheless.

Since then there's been a sense of slide for Tyrone, a team on a slope but trying to desperately to halt that slide and even go back up the hill. They have become a different side, more workmanlike than the flair of 2005. Their football is not as good as Mayo's but they could still win this game.

So it will be a clash of styles and a clash of the poor relations against the cousins who recently won the lottery. I think Mayo will have too much but as last Sunday showed us the favourites tag means nothing in GAA.

Mayo to win 2-13 to 1-11

As will I yew_tree. If tyrone come out and beat mayo with a great performance then best of luck to them. I would actually be ashamed if someone from mayo had made a point like ulsterman made.

Even if Mayo do win on Sunday I won't congratulate them. The moaning from their camp the past 2 years has been up there with Kerry and their fans have some serious, hysterical self deluded airs of grandeur. I mean come on it's only Mayo who have nothing to boast about.

Yawn, when Antrim achieve anything, come back to us. Kind of pathetic that you have hitch on the coat tails of other counties in your province.

I would be amazed if any Tyrone or Mayo man worthy of the name wouldn't congratulate their opposite numbers after Sunday, it wouldn't be in the nature of either county. There will always be the odd loudmouth who will be full of bluster before a game & then slink off when things don't go their way (yes 51longago, I'm talking about you) but they are a very small minority.
I must say I am really looking forward to Sunday & the best of luck to both teams.

i tipped Mayo to win sam this year before Tyrone got on a roll
Mayo have a very good team and and have played very well this year but the real work starts now.
I think this will be a real test for them. They have not met anyone that will play like Tyrone. will be interesting to see how they will cope if things don't go there way in the first half. Mayo mid field has been brilliant this year but i think Tyrone will contain them better than any other team has . They have never had to introduce a plan B . do they have one ? will they need one ? and if so will they be able to execute one ?. I don't think they will be able to score as freely as they have in past games.so i will be going there to watch with great interest .Mayo have not proved them self yet if they beat Tyrone and go on to win sam they will have. But we have always relied on M Heart to come up with a plan and i would not be surprised if he does it again.
And good luck to Mayo in the final if they beat us .

We will learn a lot about the character of this new Tyrone team Tyronetim, we have come a long way in the last 12 months, maybe a little bit too much too soon but there are 28 other counties out there who would love to be where we are right now. I'm thinking that if we can hold Mayo to within 3/4 points by the 4th quarter then we have a chance, if they have a substantial lead by half time then we could be in trouble. Either way, the future for Tyrone football is looking good and regardless of the result on Sunday we can look back on this year with great satisfaction.
Tir Eoghain Abu.

Agree except my fear is that as the younger lads come into their own SON, Sean Cavanagh (With a C), the Block, Joe and Justin go over that hill that wee bit further so we need to do it now or next year latest.
Hope we can but as you say they've surpassed most of our expectations this year.
I'll have a few pints of black to calm the oul nerves on Sunday and will do my best for the Dublin pubs over the weekend too.

Ah here lads sometimes we all get carried away on a forum like this.As I've already said myself, somewhere on here,I will be wishing Mayo all the best if they come out on top after Sundays game.I would be very happy thereafter to see them go all the way and finally get their hands on that elusive Sam.I would be very happy for the likes of Yew Tree,The Flaker and other sound Mayo posters on here.I suppose I'd even be a little pleased for TheMaster and 51longago as it would bring untold joy into the lives of 2 men who are in desperate need of some untold joy:) Anyway lads until the final whistle on Sunday there will be no quarter asked and none given!! Tir Eoghain Abu!!!

untested? Mayo played the current all ireland champions in our last game if my memory serves me correct. If Mayo somehow went on to win their next two games comfortably would the same keyboard experts say that we won the all ireland without being tested? What a load of waffle!
----------------------------------------------------------------
If you win the all Ireland then you will have been tested and have come through. You can't be seriously saying that London or Donegal were serious tests were yez were in a tough battle and came out on top? Yez hammered them both, nothing gained in terms of learning your own weaknesses and short comings which in turn leaves a team vulnerable when it comes to meeting a team that will really battle and put it up to them.

Lol, get off the stage lads, this is not real life , it's a forum.

There is not a GAA man/woman around who doesn't wish his opponent the best, after the game.

Mayo team named. Looks very strong. Will Keith Higgins really play at Centre Half Forward?

For the good of football........Mayo to win by 6 maybe more.Tyrone are lucky to be this far,They will pull and drag Mayo to stop them building any steam up.James Horan will have a plan for Cavanagh,he wont WASTE Aidan O'Shea on him like we did with Darren Hughes.

If Mayo dont get sucked into the Tyrone tactics of foul play, they will win handy,if the DO get sucked in then they will struggle, but the hunger they have to win the All Ireland will drive them on.

Im sure Aidan Oshea will mark Kavanagh. There is no other match on the pitch for either player.

AS for your analysis of the good of football, I think we should be all grown up about who pulls who in games. Every team is at it at some level, there are no saints out there.. Be it Monaghan, Mayo, Donegal or the field.

Wow. What a nasty, horrible post.

I really cant see past our lads. Of course Tyrone can win but if we play to our ability (and from what Horan is saying we are taking Tyrone 100% seriously) we should win by 6,7 points plus

"Grown up" say's the boy who's Manager and journey man selector, starts crying 6 DAY'S after a defeat to us, about your player been nearly killed in a tackle, yet the same player could play 2 weeks later!!!!!!!

If it was Murphy or McFadden pulled down from scoring a goal, how grown up would you be about it? are you happy for team's and players to get away with this crap?

Just looking at the Tyrone team for Sunday, all very good players when you look at them on paper. If they click the 'Tyrone' way, you never know but once again you'd have to be impressed with Mayo this year!

Who cares what you do Ulsterman? Cameron doesn't love you, Kenny doesn't love you, your only friend is your laptop and even that's getting sick of you! I'll congratulate who ever wins, because that's what real men do.
