Trouble in upper Cusack

Was in the upper tier so can't really comment on it, but I have been to see Cork vs Dublin 3 times this year, once in the League, the football last week and hurling yesterday and not once have a scene an incident between both sets of fans, the Dublin fans are in my from my experience I one of the most gracious in the defeat and humble in victory so I find this story a bit unbelievable.

I actually agree with you royaldunne, however as I have said before, it should not be left to the supporters to self regulate and police themselves, this is the reason we have stewards, let them deal with idiots and troublemakers, effectively.

Pkrebel I agree , we beat Cork last week and not one Dublin supporter rubbed it in or anything of the sort.

I shook a lot of Cork hands after the match yesterday and wished them well, to be fair none of them rubbed it in at the final whistle either, and most just said as ye beat us last week , this week was our turn.

Tiobraid, the brave patriot was in his 50's, full head of grey hair. He was in the row ahead of me in s.305 and about 4 or 5 seats to my right . Guessing he was about 5' 9", carrying a few pounds but not what I would call fat. Wore a Dublin tracksuit top and hip-hop style three-quarter length shorts. Never before heard abuse like that at a match, and to direct it at what were basically kids ( there were four or five of them together, didn't seem to be an adult with them) was absolutely shameful. But I am sure he thought he was doing his patriotic duty.

Think I know him! Patriot Sh1te me arse!

I've been to many Cork/Dublin games over the years and have never seen anything but Great banter.
There are clowns in every county but thankfully they're in a tiny minority.
As for the two Cork muppets posting on this thread, not to worry, the school holidays are nearly
over, so that should be the end of their drivel...

Hill hurling and clondalkin. I know what you're saying and it certainly seems to be a post that was made up. No one has said they seen same or even resemblance'sof it .
I guess my point is that there seems to be a growing number of idiots attending game's now than before. Hey they were always there but they seem to be growing in number. And Meath have a hell of them too. Tanked up before games and only interested in been abusive during whole match. The only game I didn't seeit hhappening this year was v Wexford in champ. Even during last years league against both Louth and Kildare it was there. My fear is that its going to boil overand wwhen it does you will have a very unique sight of opposing fans been together no more. I think we as the long time fans have to tell our fellow supporters to cop on if they getting out of hand.
Anyway that's my rant over and maybe its cause I'm well into my forties that I see it more now and that I bring kids to games. Perhaps I never noticed it before or worse still maybe I was one of them in my youth.

Because the political/sectarian abuse from that Dubs fan , and at youngsters too, was something I had never witnessed before or ever expected to see, I prefaced my account with "I am not making this up" as it is truly something you couldn't make up. It was that bizarre. But this has been chosen as an excuse by the denialists here to say that I am. I can assure all reading here that it did indeed happen. Just because many would like it not to be true does not make it so and the pathetic efforts of one poster in particular here to go to extraordinarily irrelevant lengths to deny it, even going so far as to say I wasn't even at the match or I am posting under at least two other usernames. This guy was the only Dubs fan either at the football the previous Saturday or the hurling last Sunday that did anything that ugly. But by God, that was an incident I'll always remember.

There definitely is a hooligan element in the tyrone support. A very sizeable element it must be said.

Gives the minority of the tyrone support a very bad name.

Hundreds of people would have seen an incident like that and indeed the stewards would not let it continue for as long as alleged. I've seen people removed for much less. Saddest was pooor Tyrone chap at 2008 final was sitting beside me in Premium over Canal. He was chain smoking and asked to stop a few times. He went to toilet at half time and never reappeared. Felt sorry for him :-(

As for Sunday, there was a bit of back and forth on the Hill between a few Dubs and Cork people but saw them all shaking hands at the end. Never threatened to become nasty or violent.

@Hurlingdub

"As long as alleged" - I said it didn't start until O'Dwyer was sent off ( 20 minutes to go) and I said it was intermittent, not all the time after that. Often enough to be offensive to more than just the youngsters he was abusing though

"Hundreds of people would have witnessed it" - The fella was loud, but in the hubbub of 62,000 people with a constant roar and din of a dingdong game, the fella would have needed a loudhailer to be noticed by "hundreds of people"

"stewrds would have come" - would have to be an assault or physical confrontation before they'd come. I described to you the seating arrangements and the spacing between the 'brave patriot' and the younsgters already

You really will go to massive lengths to deny this. Read what I said, not what you would have liked me to have said. or what some other poster put up the week before this even happened.

Yeah AthCliath, it seems to go on in alot of matches. After the Tyrone V Monaghan match was over we were walking up Jones Rd as Dublin and Cork fans were coming into Croker. A mob of about 20 drunken Dub "supporters" were walking towards us shouting "There's no f***ing Queen in the South". Twas very distasteful towards their fellow Irish men, women and children and fellow Gaels!! It was very English soccer like mentality!!
