Easterner, excellent point.
Ulsterman, care to expand on this?

Not a link to the stats Seanie but the fact that a lot of other things, and more fouls, happened in other games and HS have not published a lot of my posts about this. UTV sport DID confirm that the least number of fouls were carried out by Tyrone of the 4 teams on Saturday.

Thanks Ulsterman.Do yez see that lads. The team that committed the least fouls on Saturday were.........Tyrone. Enough said.

@Bosco from Carlow... imagine an All-Ireland Qualifier in Croke Park whereby Carlow are playing this Tyrone team. It's the dying minutes of the game you are up by two... Ronan O'Neill is through on goal and John Murphy takes him to the ground to prevent the shot on goal and Carlow run out winners.

Are you telling me that you would rather not be in the semi-final? Now open your eyes lad, dry them and get over it.

I don't think the problem is the amount of fouls committed by any team but the type of fouls committed, they are the only relevant stats that matter here.

Another case of rhetoric used in a way that suits your own argument. Stick to the topic of the thread. The issue of a free count means nothing unless you seperate the so called cynical fouls/professional fouls from ordinary mundane fouls. If Tyrone's free count was through the roof is also would mean nothing in terms of what is being discussed here. The question is whether Tyrone use the professional foul to a greater extent than other teams?

Yeh who am I kidding right?Obviously the smart thing to do in an argument is to fashion your responses in a way that suits those you are arguing with.I guess you weren't on the school debating team then?

'Fashion' them? Surely if your stance is correct, then there should be no need to fashion anything? Your argument should stand up on it's own... 'Fashioning' it, is a bit like 'closing a game out', another word for plain old doing something anyway despite knowing it isnt right.

On the topic, I think tyrone got away will what should have been a straight red card offence - conor gormley punching an opponent in the face. Say what you like about cavanagh, but it is a yellow card in the current rules. I dont see why gormley shouldnt be retrospectively punished.

LADS..... this quite possibly is my favourite piece of film of the year.. Posters here from Kerry, Donegal, Monaghan, Dublin and even Galway have talked nothing but rubbish on here since the weekend. Tyrone are this and our county are just angels... Take a look at this clip lads, and maybe now you'll realise that this is a country wide problem, not a tyrone one or ulster one..

Number of fouls committed while not trying to play the ball;

Monaghan 17
Mayo 12
Donegal 9
Tyrone 8

By half time kerry had committed 7 such fouls

why is Brolly not jumping up and down at Mayo,Monaghan and Kerry???

As much as I'd enjoy a bit of success lads I'd be just as happy not to have anything to do with Tyrone. I don't think sacrificing your integrity and losing the respect of your peers is a worthwhile trade for a hollow"victory" but that's just my opinion. It's no longer sport when there's so much unsporting behaviour.
That's what sport should be about. There's enough hardship going around. If I want tough decisions, difficult situations and a lack of fairness well everyday life provides that in abundance for the average Joe soap. Especially now in this dire economic times. I know some of you boys don't know much about it but that's the situation in the Republic of Ireland anyway.
Sport, especially our own sport where there's no international element to contend with should be above that but just like your team do its being dragged down.
Eh what's the chances of your hurlers competing with ours? Snakes and ladders lads isn't it?
I really don't care what the rest of Ireland thinks but I'll be delighted when Mayo put you out of our misery.

Fermanaghforsam I have already posted this footage twice over the last few days and another poster also put it up! Nobody wants to comment or talk about it,just like the rugby tackle photo of Galvin on the Cavan man.The only poster to acknowledge that these things might be true was,to his credit, the poster by name of Streaker from Galway.Hypocrites can never see the other side of the argument.

Well I've been saying it for years and brolly, who is capable of making up his own mind in the face of media bile, has said it too - Sean cavanagh is a bigger influence on Tyrone football than Peter canavan was.

Sean Cavanagh is the greatest player Tyrone have ever produced.

Maigh Eo were mentioned in his artcile os Sunday in the Mail on Sunday on this issue. It was also clear that this article was written by him before Saturday's match. You should check it out if you can. You would understand why he lost his cool. This issue had to have been bubbling with him this last week.

Listen Bosco cos heres the truth for you.Your footballers are useless and your hurlers are useless too.Yez haven't won anything in either codes thats worth mentioning. You were probably useless at football yerself and you're only good at hurling abuse at Tyrone and theres no silver ware for doing that.

Mayoytyroneman.....those are very interesting figures alright and also show up the nonsense that has been propagated about Donegals 'cynical' football compared to Mayo when obviously the opposite is the case in the same way that Tyrone have been portrayed as the bad boys of Gaelic football when Monaghan had twice as many off the ball fouls as ye. And then we have the tirade of abuse that has followed Donegal and Tyrone this past while while Mayo and Monaghan have been portrayed as the saviours of football when obviously they are engaged in a greater sizeable amount of off the ball cynical play. The hypocrisy of the media and quite a number of southern posters and football supporters on this is quite astounding!

Just wondering if you have the figures for the other 4 teams from the weekend?
