@Muckross: :)

I hope both teams get over this nonsense and do their counties proud come Sunday.

Good grief what an article, is there something iffy in the water in Donegal? Because something is polluting their brains. Kevin Cassidy's book, McBreaty Bitegate, targetting of players, "the league doesn't matter to me!" and now collusion on a grande scale involving multiple counties. They read like messages from the Berlin Bunker at the end of the WWII.

Would someone not tell them to cop themselves on?

Arock, you are about 12 hours late to this particular party. Everyone has gone home.

Just looks like the Donegal management are trying to take a bit of pressure of their under performing team and its worked while at the same time trying to influence the referee.

I don't see any problem with it, Fergie and Mourinho have been doing it for years, its clever management.

Jim McGuinness knows exactly what he's at here. The man is a genius and this weeks "outbursts" if you like, will prove to be a masterstroke. I have re-evaluated my thoughts for this game. Donegal to go out all guns blazing and blow Mayo of the park.

I have to agree with Muckcrosshead, that all this hol-a-bol-loo is about motivating the Donegal players. The greatest danger for Donegal is to start out flat like they did against Monaghan and find themselves behind at half time. Their system does not do very well it seems when they are chasing the game.

I must make a point that its very dangerous ground for for Gaelic football managers to engage in Premier league type psychology which the likes of ferguson and mourino engage in. Creating this seige mentality, us against the world is very bad for our game. This psychology will motivate the Donegal players but on the down side it might motivate the Donegal fans and the fans of all counties in their attitudes and emotions conccerning Donegal. The beautiful thing about our game is that all fans can have a laugh together, sit together, enjoy our games together. Talk like this from Donegal management might upset this balance and our game could descend into the same caldron of hate that is associated with English soccer fans....its us against them is divisory and unsavoury to say the least. I hope that other managers dont follow this route or we may all end up being segragated in Croker.....us against them!

I wouldn't worry too much about widespread ill feeling Cacs. My experience is that the rarefied world of HoganStand has very little in common with the real world where sensible men & women treat all this stuff with a classy shrug of the shoulders.

I don't like all this interview stuff myself, but I do see it for what it is an attempt at getting a misfiring Donegal team up to steam in the biggest game of the year. b]

TBH MuckrossHead I was shouting for Donegal last year but all this stuff is very childhish. I'm sure all the other teams involved have the passion and desire to win the All Ireland Final this year without all this crazy carry on and if Donegal need this kind of thing to fire them up to retain Sam Magauire then I don't think they deserve to be All Ireland Campions again....

Where is McGuinness's PR guru Brolly these days. He has been pretty quiet on the Donegal front recently. Is he afraid that the Tír Connaill machine could be beaten and is trying to avoid having to down a good dose of humble pie. I recall him earlier in the championship pontificating about the Donegal system/machine/authority call it what you want to the point that other analysts were not getting a word in.

He is sitting quietly waiting to find another messiah to follow, after all he knows one when he sees one, he has followed a few in his time.

To be fair, I don't think McGuinness is too pushed on Joe Brolley. As he suspects somebody is the Donegal camp, or on the fringes of the Donegal camp has dripped info to Brolley over the last year.

I would love to see an actual tape of Rory Gallagher saying that, as it seems a kinda stupid thing to for him to say. Like of course teams will be plotting to take you down, your All Ireland champions!!.
I have a feeling that comment may have been taken out of context by a reporter.

There were a lot of workmen in Croke Park this morning, all very busy.
The barbed wire and turrets have been erected on both sidelines to keep mentors apart.
A moat with live crocodiles also completed around the entire pitch.
