Some counties cant handle success , thank god in Donegal s case it doesn't happen too often , must be players and fans puking with embarrassment , a lot of the shine of last years victory march being lost by the constant feeding of crap , note to management team take a look at Kilkenny and Coadys interview and learn how to handle yourselves , Damothedub (Dublin) - Posts: 5193 - 01/08/2013 12:31:17 1449650 Link 0 |
This really is getting out of hand, has any thought been given to the 40 or so amateur players who bust a gut all year long to get to this position and then have to listen to this crap. Its time management forgot the mind games and let the players perform on the day to the best of their ability and whoever wins, congrats to them, live with it,learn from it,put it to bed and move on.Wishing all teams the best over the weekend and hope we have a feast of Gaelic football rather then any other sport that management may feel will influence proceedings. true (Mayo) - Posts: 18 - 01/08/2013 12:38:59 1449666 Link 0 |
tonto21, if I dont see at least one donegal player giving cillian o'connor, andy moran or alan dillon a good testing out then I will eat my hat. Donegal have 1 player who is healed up ok but is off match fitness. Mayo have dislocated shoulders, a cruciate ligament injury and a stomach muscle injury, not to mention only 1 keeper! If you think you are the ones who shoud be worried about guys getting targetted then you are off your head. TheMaster (Mayo) - Posts: 16187 - 01/08/2013 12:41:51 1449672 Link 0 |
No conspiracy here Rory, you were beaten by a better team on the day, move on and look forward! Donegal are really showing themselves up with their comments in the media lately, I'm surprised as I thought Jimmy was a smarter man than that. I don't think it really helps in the "mind games" stakes or whatever, seems to be it's just giving Mayo more motivation to beat them. patk (Monaghan) - Posts: 945 - 01/08/2013 12:45:24 1449679 Link 0 |
It would be funny if it wasn't so sad. How could anyone take the Donegal camp seriously? Should make for an interesting game on Sunday though. ahsure. (Galway) - Posts: 1711 - 01/08/2013 12:49:11 1449683 Link 0 |

The Master - There is hard tackling and then there is over the top tackling, Donegal have been subject to it a few times this year and the management are obviously expecting it to be upped a level by Mayo tonto21 (Donegal) - Posts: 181 - 01/08/2013 12:50:11 1449688 Link 0 |
With all the rubbish being spouted whats likely to happen when players take to pitch , if they weren't pumped enough for a QF well they will be now , and when they start laying into each other or heaven forbid theres two players charging into a ball shoulder to shoulder !!! If it gets out of hand look no further than the bench . Damothedub (Dublin) - Posts: 5193 - 01/08/2013 12:50:55 1449689 Link 0 |
Well considering they have been pioneers in the field tonto, it is hard to accept that they start giving out about it when guys give them their own back... If you cant take it... TheMaster (Mayo) - Posts: 16187 - 01/08/2013 12:53:36 1449696 Link 0 |
The media is blowing all this out of proportion. Are yas all daft in believing everything that is put on here! The media make a story out of nothing. I'll tell you Jim and Rory could not care less what the media are saying! dgl2012 (Donegal) - Posts: 26 - 01/08/2013 12:53:58 1449698 Link 0 |
Why would you expect it? What what over the top tackling have Mayo done in leage or Chanpionship to date or any year for that matter? unclegerry (Mayo) - Posts: 1223 - 01/08/2013 12:56:08 1449705 Link 0 |
This like Horan's comments earlier in week are blown way out of proportion. Jose V Fergie TheRightStuff (Donegal) - Posts: 1688 - 01/08/2013 12:59:08 1449713 Link 0 |

There is a reason behind everything the Donegal management team says, and it very rarely has anything to do with what theyre actually saying. Takes the pressure of the payers as everyone is talking about the managers, shows the players the managers will stick up for them always, creates a siege mentality, etc etc etc all good in motivating and focusing a team to win. jamesjoyce (Derry) - Posts: 126 - 01/08/2013 13:14:46 1449736 Link 0 |
