I think it shows a sign of weakness...Donegal are rattled
-------------------------------------------
Spot on.They are truly afraid they are about to relinquish their title during this outing.

Surely Donegal supporters are embarrassed by this?

Horan seems to have riled them without saying very much at all. The Donegal minor manager is now having a pop at Horan. Really could get dangerous at this stage - will be an explosive game.

Farney
Can Mayo help us against Tyrone then? because it worked the last time!! The Donegal management must feel their team are under pressure with putting all this focus on themselves and not the team.

No problem farney. Well, apparantly, hitting mark mchugh a hard belt is the answer to winning football matches. So what you do is get yourself a nurses uniform and arrive at the hospital he is in just after dark... Tyrone will have no answer for it. Unless of course they get there first.
It is going to be a long weekend for mark mchugh...

Donegal would want to get over them selves. You would swear they were some sort of super team. 1 all ireland doesn't make you a super team. There are a lot of neutrals out there who won't lose any sleep if they are gone come sunday evening.

A quick question. If we knew how to beat donegal, why didnt we use it ourselves??

This sets everything up brilliantly for this game. The atmosphere on Sunday will be supercharged. Who's not going to watch this match? Well done to all involved.

Good to see Donegal at there usual craic, of talking a load of pony! Sure didn't they do the exact same with the Meath minors for last years all Ireland final ? Hipocrites is all they are.

TheMaster - what I am saying is, that it is not beyond the realms of possibility that Mayo would have been looking forward to the All-Ireland semi final and figuring that, given the Ulster and Connacht champions were going to potentially meet in the semi (if they overcame their 1/4 final opponents), that Monaghan would be a more preferable opponent than Donegal given that few really expected Monaghan to beat Donegal at the time of the Mayo/Monaghan challenge game (which I believe Monaghan won). And given this possibility then yes it is possible that Horan could have offered some advice to O'Rourke or at least have been talking about their respective finals.

I personally would see no issue in this and would think it would actually have been a smart move from a Mayo point to help them out, even in the smallest way. There was always the potential that the draw was going to do what it did and pair you up in the 1/4 final with the team you didn't potentially want to meet in the semi but it would still have been worth doing.

As to whether or not there was any sharing of knowledge who knows, but I think it is foolish to completely dismiss the notion.

Should have added, just because you know how to do something doesn't mean you can actually achieve it.

clondalkindub, I think the absence of comment from Donegal posters, with one exception, answers your question.

If Gavin or Daly came out with this nonsense for an entire week before I game, I don't think I would go to see the actual match. Embarrassing stuff. But it does have the potential to introduce a nasty edge on Sunday.

These comments are based on 2 things

1.) Donegal management are afraid key players will be taken out, we all know Mayo have it in them

2.) Donegal have been flat all year - these comments have have even neutral posters hyped up.

Should be tasty

Still think Mayo will win

I cannot believe Gallagher has gone and said that. It's so pre-meditated. And to think McGuinness criticised McGeeney and Carew after the Kildare match in 2011. What's funny is that it's so obvious now that Donegal are seriously worried about Mayo, in the same way Cassidy said in This Is Our Year that they knew Kildare were worried when they heard Carew's comments.

The aura this squad have built around themselves is now well and truly shattered. Relegated at home on the last day when they needed a win, a Down player said he couldn't believe how much Donegal were out on their feet in last 10 mins of the semi-final, out-muscled by Monaghan, squabbling on the sideline against Laois and now reduced to name-calling and whining before the quarters. And McHugh is miracuously out of intensive care and able to play and Lacey still obviously injured and overrun by Monaghan is still being wheeled out for a start in Croker. Desperation is what this is.

'Maybe we suspect there was a bit of collusion between Monaghan and Mayo', that is pathetic. What is that Mayo are supposed to have said to them, we've discovered Donegal's cryptonite and it's going in hard for tackles when the ball is loose and keep them scoreless for the first half an hour? If I was Horan I would laughing away in the car on the way to training tonight...
