The clock!!

The clock the clock the clock the clock the clock the clock!!!!!

The ladies have it. It works perfectly. It improves the game. Removes controversy. Gives the referee less room for error. Is fair, plain and simple.

Rediculous that its still not in!

Of course there will be slightly different interpretations and in the heat of the moment every ref will react differently, its human nature there will always be errors.

But its the generally accepted stuff that needs to stop. If every player who blatantly pulled a jersey, fouls with no intention of playing the ball, slows down play (all professional fouls) was booked and then sent off it would be gone overnight. Impossible to play a blanket defense when you know that there is no safety valve of fouling a man when you're on the attack to slow it down an regroup.

Gollogly got a bit of abuse for his tackle on McHugh but he went for the ball, maybe it was clumsy but he wanted it. That is better than a player grabbing a man on the ball from behind and pulling him down, he could never get the ball.

Clock.
Actual enforcement of red cards eg for punching or dangerous tackles a red card every time.
Open draw Champions League style format to championship with most matches in the big competition.
14 a side.
Professional... this would deal with a lot of complaints about skill levels etc.

1) Of the four line markings, two 45s and two 65s, an attacking player should be required to kick the ball over two of them (break up hand passing), or concede a free.
2) Pick the ball off the ground - or if we keep the current rule, the ref needs to be sure, so make it no grabbing the ball "below the knee" as opposeed to "off the ground".
3) Ponts kicked from an acute angle worth double, that is two points (draw hash marks, like rugby, in ten metres and parallel with the two sidelines).
4) Adopt the Aussie Rules tackle (wrap arms around opponent between shoulders and knees, if the ball is not released by opponent, the tackler gets the free - I find this easier to explain compared to a legal gaelic tackle).

Sure we might as well bring in the oval ball while we're at it..

Leave the bloody game alone, its perfectly fine the way it is....what happened to the days were 15 men took on 15 men? Throw the ball in and let them get on with it for god sake. Its an amateur sport and this strive for perfection is undermining the sport.

Players will soon not be able to take a fart on the field without getting some kind of card for it..

Typical Tyrone man comment. Physicality in the game has increased massively in the last 15 years so dont go on about them being way tougher back in the 70's

When a player gets the the line for striking a player, he doesn't get it overturned on a wink and a nod, so in short rules not whatever your having.

13 aside, simple would create a great open game and extend 5 subs to 7.

Unlimited number of rolling substitutions.

Would add another tactical level to the game as managers try and counteract each other.

Referee's that apply the rules we have first and then see what new ones we need. They could start with the appalling third and fourth man tackles.

It seems the vast majority of us would love to see God been removed from the refs mouth by introducing the stop clock, I wonder why some refs are opposed to this?, is it some of them actually enjoy tormenting supporters?.

I'm amazed this has not been introduced a long time ago, what is the delay or your reason for not introducing it GAA heirarchy?.

I also agree with lilywhitemagics suggestion that no ref from the same province should referee big games.

I'd also train Cyborgs to takeover fron human referees.

1446513 Handpassed points aren't allowed, it's supposed to be a fisted point only, which as anyone who has played football will know is a far more difficult achievement. 10 years on or so and we've yet to see the first disallowed 'fist', and some of them have been bordering on throws!

Jason Sherlock's goal v us in 2006 was a throw, and Mickey Conroy v Down last year (his second) was a throw!!

Id like to see Ulster removed from the All Ireland championship. Play away amongst themselves and let Joe Brolly do all the interrupting he likes. Probably the only man capable of talking over himself! Ulster championship has ruined football to the extent we're having to change the rules.

A sideline cap. one manager(Leitrim excluded). 2 water carriers and 3 selectors. Of course for hurling there should be one or two hurley carriers. No other person allowed on the pitch until the game is over. Physio might be another

I thought Aidan Walsh's goal against Galway was pure class. Showed incredible thought and technique, and it's completely different to an actual fist passed goal which is not allowed. It's very rare you see instinctive plays such as that anymore, it'd be a shame to outlaw scores using the hand entirely I personally think.

If a player steps out over the sideline or end line with the ball it should be out like the way it is in rugby.
