Lets not forget 2011 Tyrone v Donegal when Tyrone were well in control with Joe McMahon who after recovering from a broken jaw is lording it at full back. omaghjoe (Tyrone) - Posts: 1191 - 28/07/2013 18:30:42 1445136 Link 0 |
Ulsterman. Brolly has since stated that donegal are are cynical as any team in the country. So clearly, he chose to not mention this before the all ireland final, and instead concentrate on mayo in what can only be assumed was an attempt to influence the game. I had no issue with him mentioning mayo, as long as everyone got the same treatment - that is just fair game as far as Im concerned. Have to say thought Brolly's analysis has got progressively worse over the years and now follows Spillane's lazy analysis. In the last few years he's had his head up Tyrone's you know what and now that their no longer the strongest team he's shifted his praise to Donegal. His analysis last night was lazy in the extreme, no insight into the game whatsoever and when McStay tried pulling him on it he just shouted him down. stringbean (Tyrone) - Posts: 134 - 28/07/2013 18:38:53 1445148 Link 0 |

Ulsterman, you really do think everyone is out to get Northern teams. Here's the reality: Treaty_Exile (Limerick) - Posts: 386 - 28/07/2013 19:21:22 1445239 Link 0 |
I'm not joe's biggest fan but he spoke the truth last night about Tyrone's more than usual cynical tactics in the dying minutes. What annoyed me however was his persisting and puerile grigging of "St Brigid's All-Ireland winning manager". beal (Mayo) - Posts: 1388 - 28/07/2013 19:29:10 1445255 Link 0 |

In my opinion, A Professional Foul, i.e Player running through and being pulled down stopping a goalscoring position should be a RED Card. The Black card will eradicate it a little but it will still happen if teams have subs remaining DundalkGael (Louth) - Posts: 957 - 28/07/2013 19:44:20 1445295 Link 0 |
Ok he might use a bit flowery language at times but Joe Brolly is right about things more often than not.The problem in Gaa as in other sports is that people find it impossible to be objective when it comes to their own county/team.People seem to take criticism of their county as almost a personal insult to them which is childish.I saw this in Wexford when Michael Duignan made very valid comments about Wexfords dirty play against Dublin. You would think he insulted every man, woman and child in the county the crap that was said about him.I was at the games yesterday and the reason Joe was so fortright about Tyrone and their cynical play was folks because Tyrone were cynical beyond belief yesterday.Ita cheating pure and simple!! juniorbsub (Wexford) - Posts: 646 - 28/07/2013 19:46:54 1445299 Link 0 |
Henry Shefflin was sent off today for 2 fairly innocuous but ultimately cynical fouls. His 2nd yellow was a blatant drag down of a man in order to stop a Cork attack. Now, all I've heard is how Henry was hard done by, and the RTE pundits complaining about referees taking the physicality out of hurling.
