Most e joyable game. Certainty didn't see that result coming. Hope hype is kept to a minimum. Also hope RTE focus on the magnificent scores there were 4 goals and a number of near misses. However they always highlight the negative. So I expect much will be made of AOSheas sending off at the end.n

1452487 Jimmy is losing matches. Happy days, there was nothing cynical about that match eh Brolly.

It's boys like you that bring Tyrone down boy! The better team won today, by a country mile! personally I would love to see this Mayo side won an Ireland! I just hope that you aren't sitting to high up on that High stool BANDIT! It's gonna hurt when you come flying off!!!!!

Thought the ref was very poor especially in 1st half. Gave everything to Donegal i think it was 13 frees to 2 in their favour at one stage.
-----
So donegal won the first half free count and the last five minutes. Im taking Tuesday off to extend our celebrations.

Well done to Mayo comprehensive winners in every corner of the field. Hard to stop.
Donegal need to lick the wounds and rebuild for next year. Whilst Mayo were fantastic Donegal are playing well below the level they were st 12 months.
The under the radar league performances have become the norm. The intensity in 50/50 situations is not there. The discipline in giving away frees is no longer there not to mention mcgee's moment of madness.

But wouldnt give the last three years back considering where we were in 2010.
So 22 of the last 23 winners have failed to retain Sam - was optimistic to assume we could

Not much to be said except full congratulations to Mayo on a superb performance
Donegal simply didn't turn up at all & McGee's stamp removed any shred of dignity we had left.
I had Mayo down to win this but never thought we would be so bad.
However it's not about Donegal anymore & I hope Mayo go all the way now.
Talk more on Wed when I get home, hate typing on phones!!!

I think even Mayo supporters will admit that they beat Donegal but not the system

I have to say it's disappointing to see so many posters jumping on this thread to put the boot into donegal, what ever happened to not kicking someone when they are down. There also a few posters going on about about it being a victory for football etc which is just complete and utter Bull****, if a team like donegal coming from practically nowhere to winning an all ireland in 2 years is bad for football then there is something badly wrong if anything we need more teams doing this, as for the talk of the traditional counties etc how do you think counties get tradition they get it by winning my own county might only have 3 all irelands but its more than we had 10 years ago think the same for donegal etc...
Anyway i just watched the game and i'd like to say well done to mayo, the hunger they showed was scary and they will now take a bit of stopping they have been a coming team now since 2011 and have knocked out the last 3 all ireland champions in the last 3 years, i think this mayo side have realised that nobody is going to give them an all ireland medal that they have to really take it and on that form who would bet against them.

a defeat like that in all ireland 1/4 final at this level is disgracefully unacceptable and i belive the management put his players under savage pressure with the the silly comments all week........jim and rory need go!!!

He wont be going, nor do we want him to go. It was he that got us 2 ulsters and 1 all ireland in 3 seasons. Silly comments would not have changed the result yesterday. This day was in the post for a while now, we just wernt nearly good enough all year simple as that.

All the geniuses are coming out with comments now. Jim shouldnt have gone to celtic, the team trained too hard, it was simply an off day etc. The reality is that Jim gave a decade playing for donegal so he has walked the walk in the jersey,, and if a man wants to make a few quid, then he has to in the current climate. I disagree with his level of complaining this year, but I am not in charge of the team so therefore cant control this. The simple fact is that it wouldnt mater how we trained this year, we just hadnt the players available.

As for mayo, great to see them click and I hope they can give it the big one. But this is only a quarter final remember, and they could be sitting at home watching the final if they slip back to their old form. Hard to see it happen though.

Congrats to Mayo.thoroughly deserved your victory. Very disappointed with sections of the Mayo supporters though - maybe it was just where I was sitting but a more obnoxious bunch I have never witnessed. The vile and vitriol from some towards Donegal, our style of play and our supporters was unbelievable - I have come to believe that this is an anti northern thing in general which has been incessantly propagated by the national media since Spillanes tirade against Tyrone in 2003. I was disappointed also in many of our own supporters - the bandwagon supporters who when the wheels came off the bandwagon left in their droves so early in the second half. As a proud Donegal man first and foremost and as an Ulster man second, I now hope Tyrone can go on and win Sam. If not Tyrone, then either Dublin or Kerry. Up until yesterday I never had anything against Mayo, but their supporters let them down a bagful. I'd like to think that we in Donegal have been gracious always in victory and in defeat but there was certainly no graciousness shown towards me or any of the Donegal supporters who stayed til the bitter end yesterday by Mayo supporters. A distinct lack of class! Sad but true! Finally just to say to Jim and the lads, thank you for three fantastic years, years which I thought we would never witness again after the high of 1992. Ye owe us nothing and restored our pride in what it means to be from Donegal!

Mayo were magnificent yesterday and played with the pace and intensity they've brought to every match starting with Galway. Donegal were great and deserving champions, but were flat yesterday so, as with Mayo's previous wins, no one's going to be getting too carried away with the margin or manner. Tyrone won't be phased by it and will be dogged, cute and dangerous opponents the next day out. Commiserations again to Donegal supporters, but you know you've a lot to be proud of from the last few years and we know we've won nothing yet.

Hungover but wow....what can one say about that Mayo performance. There is no point to even analyse it cause Mayo just buried their opponents yesterday. We have been here before though...this win will be no good unless we go on and win the Sam Mahuire now. Lifford Gael I am sorry you had a bad experience of Mayo fans but I don't think the majority of us are like that. I shook hands with Donegal fans behind me and were very gracious in defeat like yer manager was yesterday. As I told a man from Killybegs, ye have yer all Ireland medals but we don't have any yet so until we win the Sam we can't be satisfied.

Donegal have been great champions and I wish them well in the future. Next up its game 5 and Tyrone. Maigh Eo Abu

The psychology era came to a speedy downfall and football wins out thank god .
I was afraid of what the McGuinness era would do to the game .
All credit to Monaghan who were the first team to put it up to them .
Donegal brought game planning and physicality to a new level but didn't like people game planning for them .
They didn't like teams being physical with them .
When the chips were down they started whining .
Mayo destroyed us ( Galway ) this year also but it was a brand new team of youngsters not last years All Ireland champions .
Up Mayo .
Hoping ye can go all the way now .
Make it ye'r year .

Totally accept that Yew Tree and I shook hands with the Mayo supporters beside me and wished them well after the game. I appreciate that the majority are not like that but I was really taken aback by the sizeable contingent in the Lower Cusack who booed Donegal frees throughout the game, roared abuse about our style of play and engaged in chanting 'Easy easy' towards the end of the game. It left a really bad taste afterwards and a number of young Donegal children were visibly upset with the toxic atmosphere created. I accept that we all have elements of this type of support but I never ever expected it from Mayo who I have always admired as a county!

Lifford, you know how it is... if you were to ask that crowd they'd hardly be able to name 5 Mayo players between them... sadly every county has classless gobsh*tes like these. Sorry they took from your day.
