My heart says Dún na nGaul but unfortunately my head says Maigh Eo by one or two.

And here was me thinking you only had one part of your anatomy.

To be totally honest I have no intention of responding to your post. I'd be better off talking to the wall. I'd end up repeating my point about 50 times if I engaged with you and still it wouldn't get through. No point basically.

Well actually it is because I have debunked your hollow claims with genuine facts from the actual match, and so any attempt at a response will be showed to be fraudulent. So you just want it to slide down the page, so people cant read it... Pretty sad stuff.

Gaa_lover, you are doing your best to dismiss mayos injuries because you want reason to knock them if they lose. But their 4 top scoring forwards are either injured or coming back from serious injury. O'connor and Moran are yet to even come near completing a full match. Both goalkeepers are out, one of which is in the top 3 in the country. Vaughan has not completed 70 minutes since being injured either. Dillon is struggling with a long term injury that has to be managed, and it has affected his last 2 outings. Barry moran is not fit, or anywhere near it. To say a manager wouldnt play a player who isnt match fit is ridiculous, they will play for as long as they can and come off. Look at henry shefflin playing with a damaged cruciate for instance. You really need to let the ballaghderren thing go - the rossies lost, deal with it.

Any Donegal or Mayo lads going to the Saturday matches aswell make the weekend out of it? Really can't wait for all these games , Mayo will win no doubt in my mind. Donegal are just not at it this year.

I'm guessing it's going to be a pretty ill-tempered affair. Hopefully I am wrong, but with two teams playing the "modern" style, and both with something to prove...

Regardless, I'm backing Mayo; Go on the West!

In fairness, it shows the regard the counties have for each other. Whatever happens, I hope we dont punch each other out, and someone else comes along and picks up the pieces.

TheMaster of excuses, Dismiss injuries? i pointed out the injury situation not my problem if you want to ignore it. I won't knock any side after defeat i will simply call it as i see it. Andy Moran,Conroy are hardly top scoring forwards and i think the stats will prove that. Only poor manager would start unfit player in a game and Henry Shefflin was fit thats why he started the last day and if O'Connor,Moran,Dillion etc are not 100% fit they won't start on Sunday because Horan is no fool. The rest of your post is the usual nonsense, i don't know what Roscommon has to do with me or this weekends game but if it makes you happy sure fire away.

This game has hit boiling point and it's only thursday, there has been a lot of media attention and passions are being stirred. I myself have found myself build up a bit of anger towards Donegal and really that should not happen, there has to be a line, as thats the GAA way. We have a responsibility to always behave in a certain manner and not help create an atmosphere thats more at home on the teracces of the UK soccer grounds, the general goodwill banter that is commonplace in our games should always be maintained for now and future generations as that is part of what makes it special, no segragation was ever needed and never should be.

Mayo and Donegal are slowly but surely building an intense rivalry , there is no harm to that but as i have said i just think we should all do well to remember on how far to take it. We are very similar counties in some many ways, from our sad emigration culture dating back hundreds of years to the mainly good natured charcter of our people, from picking potatoes 100 yers ago in the west of scotland to the digging of the chanel tunel in England , Donegal and Mayo folk always had a good rapour and that should remain also.

Up Mayo.

They understand they are under severe threat of losing their All-Ireland title its natural they are looking to use any edge they can, as far as Mayo go they wouldn't lose this game in a million years, its hard to see a Donegal side that can still have the exact same drive and level of determination to win Sam, take into account Mayo still haven't won it for 62 years and literally went at it again straight away last year after the final whistle of the All-Ireland Final, not buying into the whole 'better team for 60 minutes', one thing that seems to give them an edge also would be freshening things up with Cian Buckley who is one of the best coaches in Ireland, Donegal haven't brought anyone new in whatsoever, to the best of my knowledge that is, these normally turn out to be the small things that define winners and losers.

51long ago, for the first time ever on HT, I agree with out. That is a great post and so true. Words by McGuinness , Horan or whoever will not dampen a history that has been so dark for both counties. I have many uncles in London and throughout the UK, they often tell tales of the great Mayo, Kerry Galway men that they shared good and bad times with. Too be frank, the journalists have put a spin on this rivalry. Either way, we shake hands after

As I posted earlier the rest of the field are the winners here as one of the big boys in my mind will be eliminated , so its win win , and honestly not bothered which team went through but just looking forward to a great game .
That was until latest media crap-fest from Donegal , if they win its more of that to look forward to , no thanks UP MAYO .

Well not up here anyway. You would be Gathering purties or tattie Hoaking..Tattie relating to your post on picking potatoes in Scotland..lol lol. just a bit of Craic.

I have been getting a good feeling all week about Sunday as my Flag outside has been Flying in the right Direction for a Donegal win.!!

I have heard the team selection and think my fellow Inishowen man Who has had a couple of poor games this year should be tried out in Cassidys old place at right half back' he is just not cutting it around the centre.Must phone jim and tell him.

51 longago, I've said before I think the interviewers and journalists are making the waves with these stories, however, I do think rory has overstepped the mark with the latest interview, maybe he's on to something but it comes across as petty and unnecessary.. That a very good post and I hope people don't bring this rivalry (which is good) to a level that its not.. Great link to thai timms, we could do with them in croker on sunday...
