Sponger

Dublin way too open at the back. Cork will run at us and create plenty of chances.

I'm not sure where people have an idea Kerry have been given an advantage by not having a game in weeks. It's actually far from ideal just to be training while teams build up a competitive edge through the qualifiers. I'd prefer to see Kerry playing Dublin in the Dublin/Tyrone champions round idea from a few years back with the winner going on to the semi-finals and the defeated side dropping into quarter-finals against only two teams coming through the qualifiers.

Could ye imagine next weekend:
Champions Round
Kerry v Dublin
Mayo v Monaghan

Qualifier Round 5
Cavan v Cork
Tyrone v Donegal

Quarter-finals a week later
Champions Round losers drawn against Q5 winners

Ckh the only hard draw you got was Galway 02 Armagh 06 and Donegal last year other than that it's a joke how you keep getting the handy draws.

Legend I agree it's still unfair that the provincial winners don't get a second chance If they lose there quarter final game.

Great draw for the quarter-finals with all the games holding great interest. I think the meeting of Mayo and Donegal is the pick of the bunch followed by Dublin and Cork. Tyrone have a 50/50 game with Monaghan while Cavan making the last eight is like a free bet and they will have nothing to lose.

Happy with the draw. 50/50 game for Dublin, Just as likely to lose as they are to win.

Well I think this is the most competitive The All Ireland
has ever been. The standard at the top is excellent even if the football isn't always pretty.
The winner this year will be a great team.

It's what Mickey Harte has been calling for - all teams to have a second change prior to semi-finals. When the safety net is taken a way in hurling, the two unbeaten teams are only 1 match away from an All-Ireland final. If the champions round came in, it'd be the same, the two unbeaten teams would only be 1 game away from an All-Ireland final. I think it was a fair shout a few years ago and still is.

Byanthon - and any other Tyrone/Monaghan posters - what ye make of the odds on PP

Tyrone 1/2
Monaghan 2/1

Seems a bit crazy to me! I would say its pretty much 50/50 with Tyrone maybe slight slight favourites at a push

+1 - Agree totally. 6 out of the 8 teams are div 1 and eveyone knows how tough and tight that is. Fair play to Maonaghna and Cavan as well. Great to see Cavan back in the big time. they're in bonus territory now so have nothign to lose. Monaghan I think will cause and upset against Tyrone. Much better team than people give them credit for. Beat Mayo in challenge by 6 points and only improved since the.

If I wasnt a Tyrone man then 2/1 for Monaghan is a great odds. This game should be even money the pair.

unusual that they didnt have kerry v cavam on the same day as dublin v cork considering there on the same side of draw

Well I was suprised with the Monaghan Donegal odds
last week so I put 100 bucks on Monaghan.
Likewise I think Cork have good performance in them.
Like Dublin best squads in the country, I'd put Dublin slight favourites
Going to back Cork and Monaghan at those odds.
Watching Monaghan play I was glad Kerry don't have to play them.
Underrated.

PP must not have lost enough last week with us 6/1 and Beggan 10/1 to score if he keeps giving us good odds not complain, time to bash the bookies again

2/1 Monaghan?! Unbelievable! Personally I fancy they can win it, I'll definitely take a short handicap on them at least.

Got to be happy with that draw, Kerry aren't the force we once were, but we should progress to the semi. Mayo got the toughest draw, a big step up from London, Donegal to progress in a tight game. Tyrone will take Monaghan in a slugfest.
The toughest call is the Dubs and Cork, I said it numerous times I feel Cork can win Sam this year, Cork to sneak through and after years of hurt vs Kerry, will finally beat Kerry in the semis.

Donegal v Cork in the final.

Nobody were claming Monaghan were underrated when they played Antrim and Cavan. As Jarlath Burns put it last week; the microclimate had to be right against Donegal for them to win. Whilst fully deserving of their great win but I don't think they'd beat Donegal if they were pitched against them again; everything can't go right a second day. Therefore I don't think we should be caught in the sensationalism of last week; next weeks match is a completely different ball game. Tyrone are playing relatively poorly and in a quarterfinal, in Croke Park; another shift in gear IF its in them will have them in a semifinal spot against either Donegal or Mayo; both of whom we'e beaten albeit in the league this year. It will take a second performance like the Ulster Final to topple Tyrone IMO, I might be wrong but I don't think they have a full second one in them. Sean Cavanagh likes Croke Park as demonstrated yesterday. Time to drop Colm in favour of Cassidy, and Penrose for Mc Alliskey. K.Coney is not at the mark.
Game on Monaghan Brethren.!

I would honestly make Monaghan favourites here, not trying to be cute or anything here but they are Ulsters best kept secret. We have had three tough games in the last four weeks, and are still waiting to hit the heights we know we can,my worry is that fatigue will eventually take its toll.
