Culuann, Kerry have a larger population than Mayo but I wouldnt use that as an excuse. They are some county when you think about it. For a county of Mayo's size and passion though and to only have 3 all irelands is pretty poor - hopefully we can change that in my lifetime.

I'll take that on board. Its a pity we cannot all be as successful at football as Maigh Eo despite 6 demorolising beatings in All Irelands finals in the last 25 years. Congrats in advance of your All Ireland this year.

But we are so demorolised that this cannot be the case, it is there in your own words culann. Totally demoralised, and we are supposed to be dublin's rivals. That makes dublin an even clearer favourite.

Jimbo, if that is the case then why are you arguing with me? You said it yourself, I know better about it than you do, so how can you be making a case at all?

Yew_tree,

I am only sprouting crap about population to appease themaster and cacmckilly. Sometimes you have to lower the standard of debate to suit others. Any sensible person knows that you can only discuss such a thing based on numbers participating in sports.

Oh thanks for finally responding for starters... I see you pressed the ignore button to several of my posts…

As I said... A losing mentality is deeply engrained into the Mayo DNA... doomed from birth it would appear

I fully agree that you'd def be in the best position to spot such things... coming from such a well recognised substandard sporting county... but you've been arguing that Mayo fans have a winning mentality though...

It's such a shame that said belief just somehow and rather inexplicably dissipates when your players pull on their county jersey…

Mayo are the Jimmy White of the GAA world… def in a great position to spot such failings…. I def give you that…

Well, generally I would avoid responding to posts that assume answers to their own points, generally those posts come from people with some axe to grind or whatever bias that has clouded their judgement. It is more often than not, not worth it.

As you point out, mayo have a loser mentality, yet you are still saying they are favourites above your own superiorly positioned team to win sam. So basically you expect to be beaten by a bunch of losers who are inferior anyway. What does that say about your own mentality?

Chief... you are entitled to your input...

But that's all it is... I don't think we're ready

We'll find out if you're right or if I'm wrong... fingers crossed that you are spot on and we go onto win the AI

In fact win the treble... with a bunch of brand new players, playing a new system under a manager that won't even be in the job a year come September...

It will probably be one of greatest achievements of all time... such things don't happen very often

But sure just look at the hurlers this year... anything is possible if the players believe in themselves and play to their best

It doesn't matter what the fans say... sure most Dublin hurling fans including myself didnt give us a chance against Kilkenny based on our substandard performance against Wexford

Hmmm maybe I should have more faith in our footballers on that basis.... similar to our awful performance against Meath... it's possible that we can improve!

Daly had to move certain players back into position in order to do that... he had to change things

I think Gavin will need to follow suit... I think we're hugely exposed in the middle and our defence is too open to lose that amount of ball in midfield

Who knows… I hope you're right...

Up the Dubs

All of the above has already been factored in. They are still in the best position to win sam when this has been considered. Therefore can you give the reasons why they will bottle it?
