No matter what happens tomorrow night Mc Geeney will be kept on for another year so I hope myself he doesnt walk away he said before he would stay so long as the players want him and hopefully he will be at the helm next year to guide Kildare through Division 1 and a shot at Leinster.

Kieran McGeeney is a very good manager, However Kildare seem to be tactically lacking at the minute. Even last season I felt they left themselves wide open against Cork, who took advantage and destroyed them. The same thing happened against Dublin this season, to the same tune again.

McGeeney has shown prior to this that he is tactically clever, but something has gone missing in Kildare since 2011.

Good man sponger. Nothing like throwing out a well worn cliche to prove your intelligence.

Can't wait now. If Stephen O'Neill scores 2 points sgain as good as he did in Croke Park in the league semi I'll be glad to say I was there, even if we lose. Enjoy your trip down Tyrone fans though obviously I hope you go home miserable !! :-)

Tyrone Morale is low: I think its because we had realistic expetations of beating Donegal, that didn't go to plan; we certainly didn't play to our potential. Being away from home persistently is demoralising (I know its the luck of the draw); its hard to get the support out, and get momentum on and off the pitch, it has allowed a pessimism to creep in.
We are definitely capable of beating Kildare, and personally if we get through to play against Meath I would be quite optimistic about our ability to make a quarterfinal spot.
We have to put our bad day at Hyde Park behind us and focus on tomorrow's result. One things for sure; in order to do that we need our big players to have big games; in particular Sean Kavanagh and Joe Mc Mahon, and the sideline needs to act fast if things aren't going to plan. Tir Eoghain ABU!!!

Either way I'm looking forward to it, but anybody who thinks Geezer will stay on if he loses is bonkers.

Mcgeeney will stay if players want him. He said that from day one. I have my problems with geezer but only lads spouting off he should leave are from other counties. Majority in Kildare know he has brought us on. He is young manager learning his trade. Tactically he isn't at it, but that will come over time. Minors, juniors, u16, u21 Leinster champions. Future is bright. As for today's game, just hope players go mental with all the near misses over last few years and they finally put one of the big guns to the sword. Tyrone to win it in my opinion but I hope to god I'm wrong.... If we win.... Anything is possible... And who wouldn't want a Kildare Meath tussle in the next round... Even Tyrone boys must be licking their lips at the thought of it ;-)

Are you being sarcastic, no harm to ye but ye are waiting for something to happen under McGeanney for far too long. This is his last chance saloon , no way will he be in charge next year if he doesn't beat an average Tyrone side tonight. Roscommon had them beat only for lack of composure at the end , they kicked four wides that were scorable near the end. Evans done his homework and prepared his team right, his tatics and preparation were a credit to him, will McGeaney be as good? Tonight is his last test if he fails.

I think Geezer will and should stay people outside Kildare don't seem to remember low Kildare football was before he arrived, we have huge underage talent coming through and the future is looking good. I for one may not agree with all his choices or tactics but I do believe he has given us some great days out and above all hope which we didn't have before he arrived. In the end I think it should be his and the teams decision but it seems to me most people outside Kildare can't wait to see him gone which is maybe a reason to keep him !!

I can not speak for myself and I definitely want McGeeney to stay on after this season. It's very rare in the GAA that we get to see a manager build a team his way from scratch bit that's what he's trying to do now with all these U21s who've learned their trade with him in charge. We were losing but 12 points to Laois and couldn't buy a qualifier win before he took over, he's brought us on a huge amount. Ewan McKenna wrote a good article about it before the Louth game

What county ya from? Oh ya mayo! Average Tyrone side? They are third best team in country in my opinion. They did what they had to against Roscommon, will be a different mindset tonite... O'neills is also back, big plus for them. If mcgeeney gets it wrong, fair enuf, but he will be the first one to hold his hands up. Up to players tonite to put the years of failure against the top guns behind them. All geezer shud be doing tonite is calling out starting 15. Lest we forget where we were before mcgeeney. First round defeats and early qualifier exits. No underage structure. Different kettle of fish now

Well I have been following Kildare for years and I want Mc Geeney to stay on and buid this new team with under 16 ,junior, under 21 and minor leinster champions this year Kildare have a lot of talent and potential Credit to Mc Geeney for this aswell he put them development structures in place in Kildare when he arrived 5 years on the benefit is showing.
Kildare are not a county that get rid of managers like the rate of Galway for e.g it took Mick o dwyer two stints as Kildare manager to win anything either. I Think Mc Geeney will stay heres hoping anyway.

Hard to see past a Tyrone win tonight unfortunately.

Foley, Lyons and Doyle out leave us weakened considerably at the back, we're going with a very attacking minded half back line and unless there's a change or two it wouldn't be surprising to see the likes of Harte, both Cavanaghs and both Donnelly's run through us like Dublin did.

If Stevie O'Neill is close to fully fit then he's the obvious danger man, Peter Kelly had a great game last weekend so imagine he'll be the man to pick him up in what should be a good battle that could help decide the game.

We've options in the forwards, kicked less wides than usual against Louth and there was good support play for the most part too which is a big improvement from matches earlier in the year.

Subs will have a big influence on this, McGeeney got his changes pretty much spot on against Louth, hopefully he's learnt from past mistakes and makes the right changes when needed tonight. That along with home advantage should be worth a few points to us, whether or not that's enough to see us over the line is hard to know, head overruling heart on this one for a narrow Tyrone win.

Syl Merrins, Pat Dunney, John McCarthy, Noel Mooney and Bryan Murphy would disagree.

People outside Kildare have no ideas how bad football was in the county before McGeeney arrived in 07. First round defeats in 04,06,and 07 and a hammering by Laois in 05. Maybe 1 win in the qualifiers in that time. Our minors failed to win a game in 4 years. What McGeeney has done is installed a professional set up at all levels which has helped win 4 Leinster titles this year. We were very close in 10 and 11 and enjoyed no luck in big games. The reality is the present manager is cursed with the same problem that all Kildare teams have had in the last 30 years; not enough top quality forwards. For years JD has ploughed a lonely furrow up front. This may be changing with the arrival of players like Kelly, Brophy and Cribben. We wont see the best of that trio tonight but we will in the future and hopefully the manager will be in charge for that. The obsession with getting rid of him by people outside the county is baffling to say the least. We should be careful what we wish for in Kildare.

100 agree Murof!! Qualifier alone under Mc geeney played 17 won 16 draw 1 LOST 0!!!!!
Kildare only ever won two Qualifier's since their introduction in 2001 before Mc geeney came in Kildare were seen as the handy draw..a laughing stock.. would this match this evening be as big if Mc Geeney wasnt at the helm in Kildare? probably not!! Keep Mc Geeney in Kildare theres many a county that would love to go from our position (walkovers) its the truth to been a competitive force that are no pushovers.
