Does anyone know for sure how the hurling semi-final draw works? If Galway beat Clare, do they play Limerick because they've played Dublin already? Likewise, if Cork beat Kilkenny, then they can't play Limerick? I assume if Kilkenny and Galway both win, then there'll have to be a draw, as both have played the Dubs? football first (None) - Posts: 1259 - 14/07/2013 21:22:11 1431511 Link 0 |

Teams tht met in provincial finals cannot play each other again but teams that met prior to that can so if Kilkenny and Galway win Dublin will be playing Kilkenny due to playing Galway in leinster decider urhavinalaugh (Carlow) - Posts: 73 - 14/07/2013 21:59:31 1431570 Link 0 |
Some people are convionced that Limerick are playing the Galway / Clare winners but I think a draw is needed. Is the semi final draw not being made until after the Quarter Finals then? as depending on the Q/F results a draw may not be needed, if either Gaway or Cork win? If Galway beat Clare and Cork beat Cats, there has to be a draw. If Clare beat Galway and Kilkenny beat Cork, there has to be a draw. If Galway beat Clare then regardless of other result the winner gets Dubs. hurlingdub (Dublin) - Posts: 6978 - 15/07/2013 12:39:53 1432019 Link 0 |

urhavinalaugh ironically enough what you say makes sense. so does that mean that if clare and kilkenny win there will have to be a draw as neither of them were in a provincial final against the 2 semi finalists? hurlingexpert (Clare) - Posts: 1941 - 15/07/2013 12:47:35 1432041 Link 0 |

Limerick played Waterford in the munster final and then played them again in the All Ireland semi final in 2007 so they could play cork again or has the rules changed since then could some one tell me. dugie (Limerick) - Posts: 43 - 15/07/2013 13:17:06 1432133 Link 0 |

I don't think there should be a draw, regardless of whether the provincial runner-ups go out or not. The winners of Kilkenny v Cork should meet Dublin, with Galway or Clare meeting Limerick, as you can't leave the door open to a repeat of provincial finals. I'm aware that Kilkenny already played Dublin, but better to have a repeat of that than a match that's just taken place. There has to be clarity on who is playing who at this stage. Maybe you're right actually. I think it happened in 2006 when Waterford and Clare won their quarter-finals. Kilkenny and Cork were kept apart as provincial winners, facing one of the other two. Treaty_Exile (Limerick) - Posts: 386 - 15/07/2013 14:21:43 1432316 Link 0 |
