The losing provincial finalists should have home advantage imo.
We all tune in to watch the games, but when theyre played on front of a half empty stadium it takes a lot of the sting out of the occasion.
Still looking forward to the tyrone game though and ill be tuning into the radio for the Cork match ( dont rule out an upset ).

Why? They lost their final, and they're in the qualifiers, so why should they get rewarded for that with home advantage. Neutral venue is by far the most fair.

Yes .. If you lose in the provincials you get a second chance .. AND .. if you lose the provincial final you get home advantage in the 4th round of qualifiers.. BUT , If you win your provence, you get no second chance .... That seems so fair ..

Its no wonder the provincials aren't are well fought for or valued anymore, Sure why would they be if the only advantages are for teams who lose provincials not win them.

It rewards teams who do well in their provinces, and I think that there should be some sort of a reward for avoiding the qualifiers That's it really, and I suppose you could also argue that it gives them a much needed boost after losing a final against a team on the back of a good run in the qualifiers.
With the six day turnaround there are some tams who are probably half afraid to get to a provincial final in case they lose it.

But they haven't avoided the qualifiers, they lost a provincial game so they are in the final round of the qualifiers. And I would hardly think teams are afraid of getting to a provincial final in case they lose and get a 6 day turnaround. If they are worried about that and not with actually winning the final, then their priorities are all wrong. But I do agree that the 6 day turnaround is wrong, I thought the GAA were on about doing away with this...

Well then it rewards teams who do well in the provinces ( forget about the avoiding qualifiers thing).
Whatever about getting their priorities wrong, I would say that it is a big concern for teams who get to a provincial final and lose it. As it is I reckon that, barring a major gulf in class, teams who are going through the qualifiers have a serious advantage over teams who are on the back of a losing final.

I suppose that my main point is that the qualifiers should be as unpalatable as possible for the teams involved. The ideal scenario for me would be that teams want to avoid them at all costs. Whether we like it or not, that's not how it is now.

oh dear!.......we did mess up a lot of your 1/4 final predictions. A staggering amount of posters assumed Donegal would be Ulster Champs!..... I did warn ye in an earlier post...... anyway, back to celebrations for now!

Provincial winners should have home advantage as they're getting through to the All-Ireland series without a second chance. The games need to be in Croker though for all the money etc. so not going to happen. Watching some games in provincial grounds though, it's wrong not to have more knock-out games in provincial grounds. As I've called for many a time, rounds 3 & 4 of the qualifiers should be scrapped with a Round of 16 brought in.

London and Cavan drawing at half time. Cavan haven't been very good and missed several basic chances but London have been very competitive to be fair. I expect Cavan to up their level in the 2nd half because this is probably as bad as I've seen them since the start of this years Ulster Championship, but if they don't there could definitely be an upset.

FIX!! Normally if 2 teams come out that can't play each other, the second team drops down to play the next team drawn out - but oh no, we can't have Kerry playing Donegal so they decide to put the second team back in the bowl.
STINKS TO THE HIGH HEAVENS!!!

Yes, if only they'd let a Dubliner pick the balls out of the bowl, a former county footballer maybe to make things completely fair. .
