In the end Kilkenny won fair and square, but I cant just help getting the feeling Waterford didn't hurl. They were far too slow in getting the ball into the forward line. They were were sluggish at times in possession and sloppy with handpassing when blasting the ball up to the forwards wasn't on the agenda. Jackie Tyrell and JJ Delaney were there to be exploited pace wise but they didn't act on it. If only John Mullane had have postponed retirement it could have been a different result. Overall it was an enjoyable Game and this championship brings back the nostalgia of the 90`s with the great weather and all! Hurling is definitely on the way back, all the good work behind doors is paying dividends at last, but it could be another year or two before we see a new all Ireland champion. preddan (Kildare) - Posts: 804 - 14/07/2013 15:36:08 1431017 Link 0 |
We've had a great hurling championship this year. It has been thrilling. Wexford had nothing left to give in injury time after the effort to get back into the game and Mossy Waters was a massive loss. Thought we were gone but showed spirit and never say die doggedness to get back into it. Pinkie (Wexford) - Posts: 4100 - 14/07/2013 18:25:38 1431262 Link 0 |
