I'd say theres a decent chance of Horgans red card being rescinded for the kilkenny game , bit harsh I thought although after the wexford/Dublin replay that sort of action is very much taboo . Delighted for Limerick , they really drove on in the second half , some outstanding performances , wouldnt be surprised to see them go all the way , very determined team , incredible scenes at the end

Heartiest congratulations to Limerick. Fair play to you. There was great scenes at the end and it is great to have Limerick back as a powerhouse in hurling. We had plenty of chances in the game but unfortunately we did not take enough of them. Limerick took theirs, they had better subs to bring on and they opened their shoulders toward the end of the game and they killed us off. They deserved the win.

On the sending off, I have no complaints. I am certain there was no malice, however, he did strike a player in the head with a hurley and that is a straight red card. The ref is not there to guess on intention. I am certain, that we will see other incidents where players will not get sent off for similar offences and this is frustrating. Let us not detract from Limerick's victory though. Well done.

Seeing the fans waiting to burst onto the pitch in the end reminded me of the old black and white images of games in the 60s and 70s (except in colour and hd). Classic stuff.

Well done Limerick, delighted for slayer, miketyson and the decent Limerick folk we debate, argue, agree, disagree with on here.

They were by far the better team and thought the sending off was harsh, Limerick would have won if Cork had 15 still.

The Limerick full back always makes me laugh, he looks like a junior hurler by build but he is an absolute powerhouse and although not the most skillful hurler, he more than makes up for it with heart and determination. I love players like him getting their reward. But number 13 has only got 1 side?

And Donal O'Grady, Niall Moran, etc. But spare a thought for Brian Geary, Ollie Moran who just missed out on one.

Delighted for them though - well done.

Funny game, cork could have been out of sight by half time yet with the sending off and a bit of a mental breakdown limerick ran out easy enough winners

Sending off killed game as a contest. Cork to beat Kilkenny in QF is my prediction.

A huge congrats to Limerick and John Allen. The scenes at the end yesterday will stick long in the memory. As for ourselves, Kilkenny is the draw I wanted. We need this to see where we are. Once again the goals did not come yesterday and this is a worrying trend. I thought the sending off of Hoggy was harsh but it is what it is. I will by no means use it as an excuse for us loosing. Hopefully the red card will be rescinded as we'll definitely need him for the KK battle.

Unfortunately Bloodandbandage, I cannot see it being rescinded. He will definitely be out for four weeks. The way things are, KK are getting their best players back at the right time (Fennelly, Shefflin, Paul Murphy etc) while we are losing our players (Brian Murphy, Pat Horgan). We are seriously up against it but we have to believe. We might as well play them as anybody.

Well done Limerick and hard luck Cork....the sending off was harsh I thought. But overall delighted for Limerick - great scenes at the end. If ever there was an argument for keeping the provincial championship this was it.

Limerick would be the team I would like to see win the All Ireland now - who know's they might.

I live in hope BB. I'm gutted for him(my own clubman). You are right with regard to the KK lads. Two weeks break will do them the world of good. Still, I think we have a half decent chance. Wide's aside, there were a lot of positives to take from the game. Our hurling was very slick in that first half and we fought our way back to within two points with 10 mins remaining. Obviously the man down had a big bearing on the game in the end, especially with the conditions.
It's just a pity we can't score goals...

Firstly well done to limerick worthy winners, however sending of had a big impact on the game limerick really got on top in last 10minutes of the game I honestly belive cork wilted through the heat but also the fact that they were a man down and doing more chasing down then they would have had if horgan was on the pitch if there was one guy cork wouldn't have wanted to be sent off it was him,big calls needed by cork management now starting with cian McCarthy and conor lehane kk next it aint going to be easy

Our forwards for the next day...where do we start? It has to be

Naughton
Harnedy
Cronin
Coughlan
O'Farrel
Lehane

Cian McCarthy cannot start. Michael Cussen cannot be used either. Hitting hopeful balls in to the KK backs will be like hitting it off a wall. We must create as much space as we can for Coughlan, Lehane, O Farrell etc Then we have a chance. Two of the latter (the two Midleton lads need to step it up though).

Horgan red card will definitely be rescinded, don't worry about that. Ridiculous decision that referees committee know was wrong plus GAA council will want to make sure KK are facing the toughest opposition possible. Horgan is a class act and capable of destroying KK on his own IF he gets the right supply of low ball.

Not sure what's gone wrong with Lehane, largely anonymous again yesterday altough he has come up against exceptional defenders in bugler (clare) and o'mahony/mccarthy yesteday. In any case I'd give Moylan another chance - great player but wasted in corner forward, I'd try him out on the wing for his ability to win breaking ball and his pace/mobility. Will be a positive that Cronin got a full 70 mins in the last day, he'll be very important to try curb physical presence of Tommy W/Brain Hogan the next day.

I fully expect Cork to beat KK (altho again no-one will agree with me)

Well done Limerick. Sending off or not I think that you would still have won. Ref ruined the Munster Final with the most dubious decision I have ever seen. John Bannon then comes out this morning trying to defend the indefensible.

Agree 100%. No offence to Cussen but when I see him coming on, I know we are in the crap. Cian McCarthy just not good enough. Unfortunately we don't seem to have enough players to win dirty ball.

Well done Limerick, the emotion of those scenes at the end were heart warming and reminded me of ourselves ending our 19 year wait for a provincial championship in 1996.for a whole generation of people that was a new experience for them.sadly for ourselves,it looks like we might wait a long time for another such day.
i would say the pints were flowing in limerick as we have yet to hear from slayer et al...hope they enjoyed the celebrations!

If JBM's plan B is cussent then Cork are going nowhere. Cussesn was also warming up on the sideline during the early stage of the second half of the Clare Cork game. When Cork looked comfortable he retreated to the bench.

Most will agree with you. The problem is that we are stuck for players. Our plan A is not very inspiring either. With Paudie Sull, Pat Horgan and Niall McCarthy not available for different reasons for the next game our squad is light.
