GAA players on Twitter

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Generally the ones who slag off Twitter have never actually used it before themselves. It's fantastic for GAA updates and latest news. I get most of the latest GAA and other sports news etc from my Twitter feed before it's broadcast anywhere else.

maybe not, probably a sweeping generalisation, I could referring more to celebrities, professional footballers and reality TV wannabes!

Actually now that you mention it, I follow most of the Irish footballers and Simon Cox just posts about his dinner and boring dvds he's watching haha

Twitter is fantastic for updates, news and debates, although for the latter the character limit is often a pain the hole

Not mad about twitter but I wouldn't worry too much about it. Its here to stay, like it or not.

For the dinosaurs that don't like twitter , it's not the usual bull you get from after match interviews where it's all rhetorical crap. You get what players really have to say. It does not have an effect on players eg: McHugh, Brogan , Gooch , not bad players who usually use it and still perform #getonit

I love the way some people seem to think that unless youre a fan of every little modern technological development you're a dinosaur.
I disagree completely therightstuff on the point you made. Most stuff on twitter is very boring and pointless, just like post match interviews.
In fact, I would say that the problem with twitter is that the only time people are bothered about what you say is when you say something that can get you into trouble.

Ah relax Carter , I'm only messing and replying to the guy who alluded to banning it. If you don't like it, Don't use it ,simple as that. Last week Benny Coulter was slating the Sunday Game on twitter. In a boring interview , you generally would not get that. No big deal JonCarter #justdontuseit #Gaa

Hey!!! I ain't no dinosaur, I use it myself. I know some inter-county managers who feel it's their duty to troll their players accounts just like a parent keeping an eye on a teenager. It's a labour of love they tell me, but unwelcome extra work!

Fair enough. I certainly agree that it shouldnt be banned.

Don't know McGuinness stance on it because most of the Donegal lads on it. We just happy to have Internet coverage up here in 'the mountains' so we have to avail of every opportunity to interact with the outside world. I wonder will we ever run out of forums
