Borefest, conditions not helping i suppose, id still expect donegal to pull away in second half.

Some players nowadays are genuinely not good footballers, the footpassing is useless by some.

Now if Down where to score a goal it might open things up a bit, but its like two whales slamming into each other, I guess if your into that sort of thing.

I told yous. Down needed a good ref today, however they have stood up to Donegal. Think Ref has copped on though. Downs shooting themselves out of it. they should be ahead now. Donegal gave their all against Tyrone when Tyrone had an off day. Donegals not as good as what people think they are. Its there to be seen today.

It's a poor match to watch but this is the way Gaelic football is going sadly

Strangely satisfied with the Down performance, despite the fact that unless they get one or two early points in the second half Donegal should be able to close the game out quite easily. Down players showing a lot of industry, are showing great heart and work rate, and are more than matching Donegal in terms of physicality. Donal O'Hare has hit some magnificent free kicks, which is a vital asset in any game against Donegal. Murphy, McFadden and McBrearty were running riot in the early stages but have been closed down quickly by the Down backs.

However, this highly intriguing turd can only be polished so much. The officiating has been poor, and the referee has not penalised throw balls and illegal pickups despite the RTE heads seeming to think he is being 'conservative'. Down have sacrificed half a century of proud footballing tradition just to avoid a hammering, and have shown next to no attacking initiative despite all their hard work. While that can be readily understood in the circumstances, the problem is that Down just aren't very good at what we call cynical football. Benny Coulter is one of the finest footballers the county has ever produced and has went M.I.A somewhere in the vast expanse of where the other Down forwards should be. It is sad to see, especially when one considers that this could well be his last appearance in the Ulster Championship.

Down are now 3 points behind, and must close the gap very soon. One or two points more for Donegal and they should be able to see this out. Whatever way this one goes, Down have shown that they are not a team to be taken lightly. Strong, fast, skillful, fit, and more organised than they were last year. Bodes well.

Down need to be more clinical, they've missed 2 or 3 very easy chances.

Dodgy call by the ref there moving up the free.

Down have no choice but to play this way....Donegal are to blame for the spectacle, they have been playing this tripe for the past three years.

Donegal are nothing special. Seriously I cant see the fuss. 15 men behind the ball at times and no players inside the Down 45m line.

Benny keeps over doing it in possession, Down could be only 1 behind now.

The ref seems to be making up for his woeful first half, a soft free there for Lsverty. Down have been fantastic though, I love watching their forward line. A worrying Donegal performance so far though, they need Lacey and Gallagher back.

The only thing Donegal have proven today is that a team with good execution will put them away. Its only a matter of time.

Down are the better side at the minute but Donegal the more economical and will win. Terrible game to watch.

That's very true Bren. But Tyrone should have beaten them first time out.. But for missed chances Tyrone would have won the game.

Mark Poland is a great footballer, its nice to see Rodgers playing so good as well but he'll be sent off if he keeps going the direction hes going in.
