Was at the game in Cavan on Sunday, good contest in tough scoring conditions with Donegal prevailing over a tough Down team who gave their all but lacked the ability to chose shot selections wisely. Donegal have had 5 wides in two games, an incredible statistic and points to their patience of working the ball into proper scoring positions before having a go. I think they should account for either Cavan or Monaghan but as always, it will be a tight contest. Ulster games are never the most free-flowing matches but they give a neutral like me a chance to go to a match and get a proper tight game. I see where Tyrone player Conor McAliskey feels that Tyrone would have beaten Donegal if they had had their shooting boot on. MuckrossHead (Donegal) - Posts: 5028 - 25/06/2013 18:51:01 1415520 Link 0 |
Muckross.... Thanks for the welcome... It means a lot coming from yourself! You were giving advice on the do's and do nots of posting straight after I had a wee stab at Wayno for being all mean about Donegal and I assume it was aimed at me.... My mistake Buddha.. I mean Muckross. mickyrua (Donegal) - Posts: 55 - 25/06/2013 19:32:43 1415551 Link 0 |
Ah c'mon now muckross...surely it must be luck that you won your last 2 matches...it couldn't be a defensive system designed to crowd out the traditional scoring areas and force long distance and tight angle shooting...same way the small pitch in ballybofey (ha that was a good one) aided you...but these excuses seem to be accepted yet when donegal fans mention missing the best player of 2012 or an extremely influential midfielder being injured its not acceptable...too many delusional people and wums spoil the forum methinks! Anyway back to football...I personally think it would be good for the game if some team were able to beat donegal...it would then force a rethink on mcguinness' part and help the game develop and evolve further! Interesting few months ahead! breakingball22 (Louth) - Posts: 419 - 25/06/2013 19:48:31 1415559 Link 0 |
Funny that the two county commenting on Donegal are one that created Negative football and the other who will most benifit fron it over the next few years. Stand up tyrone and Mayo THE EXTRAMAN (Donegal) - Posts: 554 - 25/06/2013 20:05:52 1415575 Link 0 |

Cool.... now to talk football. In my book a wins a win.Down were pumping for that game after last year. It was never going to be an eleven point win again or anything like that. The loss of Lacey, Gallagher and then Bradley and Frank early left us seriously exposed. Any team would feel the loss of Lacey and McGlynn, fast hands out of defence and great score getting ability. Every team we face from now till August/September if we get there will have a assive appetite to beat us. I pray for a game against the Dubs. I really do. Great to be champs and to be the team to beat. Total faith in Jim. mickyrua (Donegal) - Posts: 55 - 25/06/2013 21:09:33 1415626 Link 0 |
