It's a dislocation rather than a break as was incorrectly reported in the papers. He might not be out for too long.

Massive loss to Kildare always does well on Bernard.

Both sides have defensive weaknesses imo. Whoever shores up the tighest here may get the upper hand as id expect midfield to break even enough and both sets of forwards can score. Shame we have lost Ollie. Hunger and desire will also play their part. Cant wait for the battle.

Time to bring back Aindriú MacLochlainn so! His discipline in never giving away fouls would be crucial in a game like this...

Always thought that lad got a bit of a raw deal, quality defender and definitely adds a physical, in your face type presence that we seem to lack at the back.

Sorry man I had to laugh at that! Still don't think he has a patch on Lyons. Quality footballer who's giving berno a tough time of late.

I wonder if McGeeney will take a leaf out of McCartan's book & go defensive with a couple of sweepers. Dublin found it difficult enough against Donegal in 2011 & Down showed that it can be done. After all what have they got to lose? its not as if taking Dublin on man to man is going to work, they may as well give it a lash.

Yeah muckross dublin found it difficult against donegal in 2011 but we still won the game and i think we have a much better forward unit this year one better equipped to deal with blanket defences !

Did Geezer not try that in the league?

They tried a very defensive system in the league and it backfired, primarily due to the requirement to keep it tight in the opening period. The game plan went out the window with Dublin's bright start but Kildare maintained the conservative approach and struggled to get forward momentum, as a result. It may well be the correct approach if it's practised in training to the point where it's second nature though this hasn't been the recent Kildare style so a change at this juncture might also prove fruitless. There's little doubt that McGeeney and his selectors have considered in depth the merits and feasibility of implication of this approach given the personnel available and the level of the opposition. It will be interesting to see what he tries on Sunday.

Ollie Lyons is a huge loss for us all right. Peter Kelly will possibly now be handed the job of man marking Bernard Brogan. While the former All-Star Kelly is a good footballer it's his tendancy to give away frees at times that is worrying ahead of Sunday's clash.

Hard to know DJ. This Dublin attack hasn't played against a blanket defence yet so we won't know how well equipped they are until they do.

Tyrone in the league final? Wexford??? You are having me on. That is not even handkerchief let alone a blanket compared to what Donegal will do if they meet Dublin in Sept.
