Yeah but we won the O'Byrne shield in 2011 beating Meath in extra time in the final, does that count? doublehop (Kildare) - Posts: 4172 - 24/06/2013 14:49:43 1414361 Link 0 |
After Dublin losing to Kildare in the OB cup final earlier in the year. We are just playing for pride here on in. Nothing else to play for. Shame really cause we've a decent group of guys who really felt they could mix it amongst the elite of Carlow, Longford, and Kildare in the OB cup. waynoI (Dublin) - Posts: 13655 - 24/06/2013 14:55:27 1414371 Link 0 |
Going great in training apparently. Could start ahead of Paddy or Paul if Gavin is true to his word but I doubt it. waynoI (Dublin) - Posts: 13655 - 24/06/2013 14:56:11 1414373 Link 0 |

Wayno you think Kildare would tire? Kildare are fit just as fit as Dublin thats one thing I wont worry about and thats Kildare's strength and conditioning and preparation. lilywhitemagic (Kildare) - Posts: 1693 - 24/06/2013 16:13:17 1414471 Link 0 |
Lads he isn't having a go at Kildare's fitness levels, we all know they are very fit, but generally speaking who is going to have more energy : The man who is fresh from the bench or the defenders who have played 50 or 60 minutes of high intensity football? Even though I think Kevin deserves more time from the start, his energy and direct running is crucial from the bench. CaisleanCnucha (Dublin) - Posts: 1379 - 24/06/2013 16:26:03 1414490 Link 0 |
Ah yeah sure thats the logic for any sub the legs wouldnt be as tired although not sure as many would get away with the steps kevin mc takes I do laugh at the telly watching him. lilywhitemagic (Kildare) - Posts: 1693 - 24/06/2013 16:42:09 1414508 Link 0 |
Every forward gets away with 5 or 6 steps, Kev probably gets away with more because he takes small strides. The steps rule is a bit ridiculous these days though, every game you have players getting away with 6+ steps, but if a guy is lying on the ground being tackled by 5 men he gets called for overcarrying? I never did get that one. CaisleanCnucha (Dublin) - Posts: 1379 - 24/06/2013 16:53:54 1414518 Link 0 |
