Dublin v Kildare

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

As I said before Master, I think Kildare have a good chance, we're young and raw, possibly a little less tight at the back than a top championship should be. It's a huge game for both teams considering the youth and inexperience on show for both sides.

I wouldn't put my house on a Dublin win, if I'm pushed I think we'll outscore them, would be very surprised if it's a landslid and not so surprised if Kildare won.

I haven't seen anything yet to suggest that Kildare are capable of beating Dublin, ok they were unlucky in 2011 but to be fair Dublin were the better team that day. Anyway on the day let's hope both teams put on a show for us but I'd say Dublin should win by 5 points +

An unbelievable amount of replies to this thread. Im not even really looking forward to the match that much, Id be surprised if Kildare get anywhere near Dublin (although I hope they win).

I generally try to talk the Dubs down and keep my feet on the ground, but being completely honest I will be very disappointed if we don't beat Kildare. I think and hope it will be a close, enjoyable game though.

albeit im not a netural 51 but I dont Know why either just have a feeling Kildare will win this too like I said I dont know why I just do.
Everyone is tipping the Dubs and its days like that in the championship an upset occurs.

It's a new management system and a lot of new players involved this year. Also add in the return from injury of Callaghan and Flynn and Kildare can be optimistic for this year which wont end after the next match regardless of the result. We will be looking for a big performance first and who knows after that. How many dubs expected to lose to Mayo last year? Stranger things have happened in footbball.

Its the same story with Kildare every year the simple fact is they havent
got what it takes when it comes to the crunch i could go on all day giving
examples Dublin to win by 8points

I think this could be Kildare's "any given day". There's only a handful of county's in the country equipped to match Dublin's fitness and physicality and if Kildare get a few breaks on the day then I think they could pull this off. They've a couple of better forwards in their ranks now and may now have the firepower to gun down the Dubs.

I'm not convinced with Dublin yet and I believe with the constant rotation of their team over the past 2 years they've failed to find a settled unit. As for Kildare, I think its now or never for McGeeney. He knows that this is a must win if he's to claim Kildare have progressed at all. Its probably a bigger game for Kildare than Dublin.

Deja vu! I remember you telling the world and their dog on here that Donegal were rubbish last year. They'd be hammered by Cork and Kerry. Constantly predicting last year's championship to repeat itself the following year isn't all that clever when you think about it. Everybody's got to make their breakthrough sometime.

Great memories lilywhitemagic but that was a far superior Kildare team to the current model. You had all the old stalwarts who had reached the All Ireland - Ryan, Rainbow, Lynch, Lacey, Finn, Earley and Quinn and you had a fine group of young players like Doyle, Fennin, Sweeney and Brennan. The current Kildare team are good but they are nowhere near that standard. The Dublin team back then was also quite poor. They didn't win a Leinster from 1995 to 2002. The current Dublin team is the strongest collection of players in the country.

So Kildare only won Leinster in 98' and 2000 because Dublin were poor at the time and thats coming from a KILDARE POSTER!
and people say Kildare people are deluded and hype the county I have never heard so pessismistic opinions all week from Kildare posters anyway I posted that clip up in no relation to what might happen next week, but I think it shows the Delaney cup would mean a hell of lot more to Kildare.
