1394832 no fear of the unknown when it comes to the back door for the self acclaimed god-given talented county of Tyrone, in the words of Michael Lyster 'Tyrone- the back door specialists'

Thats a rich statement coming from a county which has been in the back door every year since its inception. 1994 is a long time ago.

Coming from a county who have played in the qualifiers every year since they were introduced I would have thought Tyrone are still Novices as regards the qualifiers!!!

Dont think so MissDown. The qualifiers are the matches before the quarter finals that involve the teams that are knocked out of their provincial competitions. Its also known as the 'back door'. So between yourself and Mr Leister, you have your facts a bit on the kildare side.

Tyrone were undone by Morgan's failure to handle the pressure he was put under on Sunday. Get that right on it's own & Tyrone are back in the hunt big time. Whatever their odds are at the moment then it would be good value because there is not a whole lot else wrong.

We wont do anything in the qualifiers and if get an away draw we could be out. We need 2 more forwards who can win the ball and put it over the bar, until that happens we will win nothing!

Tyrone are bound to have a couple of good forwards in the county. I'm not really a big Mulligan fan, and still reckon Tyrone would be better taking the hit and giving a new forward a run Instead of returning to old forwards.

The current crop of new players need more time.

Going almost 30 minutes without scoring would suggest there are other problems.

Exactly right Cute_Kerry_Hoor. Furthermore, I would say any team counting on a lad to consistantly kick 50-60 metre frees over the bar to win games have a few issues.

They have problems certainly but then so does every other team. For our part the way we were cleaned out at midfield would be a cause for concern. My point is that Morgan's meltdown affected the rest of the team because he had been blown up to be a saviour in his own right. When they realise that you can't expect a young fella to nail 50 yard + frees on a regular basis then they will be much the better for it.

Rahillyman, the reason I felt the need to comment on this about Tyrone is because I'm fed up listening to them and am glad to see Donegal take them down a peg or two. All this talk of Tyrone particularly O'Neill and Morgan in the league has came back to bite Tyrone on the backside in the championship. O'Neill had a good league campaign but where was the genius on Sunday? In a Donegal's man back pocket. On the other hand you have the 'cool calm and collected' Morgan, Tyrone's top scorer in the league final and now, after his 1 point wonder show boating, had a disaster of a day on Sunday. All we've heard over the last few months is Tyrone this, Tyrone that, Tyrone the other. On the other hand you've Kerry, bad league campaign start, got a class one point win over Tyrone in Healy park and beat Tipperary by 17 points....not one bit of gloating, not one bit of show boating, nothing, just preparing for the next stage of their munster campaign.

Topdownfan, please leave my county Kerry out of this. You seemed to have a problem with Tyrone my friend. I say build a bridge and get over it. Support your own county with pride and dont worry about others.

and who was responsible for all this talk of Tyrone "The Media" to compare the Ulster championship to the Munster championship is like comparing black with white here we have a championship with Cork and kerry and 4 divison 4 teams hardly a fair comparison in my eyes. Tyrone lost on sunday and most tyrone supporters had no problem in wishing Donegal well for the rest of the season, but there is a bit of a difference from playing the All Ireland champions Donegal in Ballybofey and playing Tipperary. There have been a succession of Down posters wishing to have a go at us and if that rocks your boat so be it. Its a bit sad really I prefer to support my own county and leave others to do likewise. To be honest Tyrone don't really care if we are liked in county Down or not, we will take our beating from Sunday past hopefully learn from it and move on.

The influence of the media on peoples thinking can be amazing all of the above is based on the type of hype the media have given the dubs over and over for years. Your irk seems to spawn from the attention given to them from outside forces and the effect this attention has on gullible people in the tyrone ranks repeating the same bull. I can assure you if Down had been the dominant force that tyrone have been in ulster over the last 10 years then we would have been sick listening about Benny Coulter James McCarten and co. Tyrone are attemping to rebuild a team following on from one of if not the greatest set of players that Ulster has ever seen and as soon as there is a glimmer of light such as Tyrone's league campaign the media seaze on it to fill column inches.

May I just say it's got nothing to do with the media of the past 10 years or so, what I assume topdownfan is saying is that the people of Tyrone have said plenty about themselves this year on here, in conversation and in general and now they're on the scenic route. I agree totally with what topdownfan is saying there
