Well done to the exiles! It was only two years ago that they took Mayo to extra-time and should have beaten them so a result like this was on the cards. They must fancy their chances of reaching the Connacht final now.

Years of hard word paid of today, delighted for the lads! Alot of people including Corke park seem to want London to fail! A Connaught final is a real possibility!

Is it time to split London into two now, I mean look at the population they have to pick from?

Great stuff, embarrassing for Sligo though, they must be very poor, O'Hara was a little hasty so it seems!

Excellent result for London. The commitment they put in to compete at this level is huge. Their results the last few years have suggested this might be possible. Brilliant chance for them or Leitrim to get to a Connacht final. How will Leitrim handle the tag of favourites in the semi (or will they be favourites)? Really Connacht football (Mayo aside) is beyond laughable at this stage.

Bad day for Sligo but they won't be the last team to beaten by London. I'd fancy London to beat Galway if they meet in the qualifiers.

Hopefully Leitrim knock them out , London in the connacht final would be an absolute farce , if Leitrim do win they wont have been one county on their way to the conancht final , embarrassing for Sligo , how they've declined since the Connacht final of 2010

1977 was London's last win in Connacht (against Leitrim) they have been waiting for a while.

Mmm, Mayo could win the All-Ireland this year, Galway u-21 champions, St. Brigids All-Ireland club champions.

If Galway and/or Sligo are any use they will rebound in the qualifiers.

Hard to make an assessment until the end of the year. As i say every year the AVERAGE standard across the provinces is much of a muchness...too much is read into specific matches or somebody winning something.

They've now beaten Fermanagh, Waterford, Sligo and brought Mayo to extra-time in championship football in the last few years (just ran out of steam against Leitrim last year)....

Not easy for Leitrim now (and well they know it)

To be fair, Whoever plays in the Connaught final albeit agains Roscommon or Mayo, Will be obliterated.

No we won't............(well, not if it's against Roscommon anyhow!!!)

Not basing this on one game. I also said bar Mayo who won't win the All-Ireland but are a top 4 side. u21 or club are irrelevant to senior inter-county, Galway have been a disaster since 2001, Roscommon haven't done much since a couple of decent wins around 2003, 2002 was the last time Sligo made any real ripples outside the province, Leitrim had a couple of decent performances in the qualifiers last year and have been close on other occasions. London have improved but that's irrelevant to Connacht football. They are a separate entity.

Stuck,

Would you say the same about the Galway hurlers in Leinster? A separate entity and irrelevant! You can't have it both ways.

Stuck,
you could apply the same method of analysis to any province....and also use statistics to seemingly back it up. The problem with that is that you could just as easily get statistics to disprove it.

No difference in the AVERAGE standard in the provinces; a bit maybe, but not much if taken over a few years.
