Fair due to Dublin, even though they are playing a truly awful Westmeath side their work rate, both on & off the ball, is first class, chasing down everything & moving at speed. But Jesus, Westmeath a Division 1 team????????

Yea, and Donegal are a Division 2 side. Makes sense lol. Pray for Westmeath in next years league.

Snapper id agree, apart from Gary connaughton won't let in that many goals, maybe one. But his save in first half was top drawer

After all the criticism of the Munster championship last week I see no difference in Leinster.
2 solid teams in Dublin & Kildare and possibly Meath the rest are miles behind.

------
Impressive not withstanding the opposition, all six forwards scored plus an impressive bench.
Only negative I could see is at full back o carroll got skinned by Glennon on 3/4 occasions a player with a lot more years in the legs.
Also Might have expected more goals with amount of ball.

Yes I I've a few contacts in the Royal county!
Meath have traditionally put it up to Dublin and beat Kildare last year they won Leinster
a few years back.

And the gap widens and widens, people can cry about every county deserves a chance to win sam but everyone can see there needs to be a revamp, just a tweeking of the present system even, like letting some counties qualify for the actual championship.

All Dublin could do was beat what was in front of them but seriously, some people need to take a long hard look at themselves. If the top six can improve then is it too much to ask that that some of the others would put an effort in as well? Some of the wallopings in the first round of the championship this year have done the game no favours at all.

Yes Meath can always put it up to Dublin, they beat Kildare last year too but it was Louth who beat Kildare in 2010 the last time Meath got their hands on the Delaney cup.

Westmeath and Louth have a major difficulty with playing Dublin. The last time Westmeath played Dublin in the Leinster championship they took a real hammering then also. Louth have taken plenty of hammerings from them too.

Is it a mental thing or what ?.

Louth beat Laois by 10 points last Sunday, Laois ran Dublin very close last year in the All Ireland QF. Westmeath ran Kerry very very close in Mullingar last year, a Kerry team who subsequently hammered Tyrone. Kerry then lost narrowly to the eventual champions Donegal.

So what the story with the Westmeath and Louth collapses against Dublin ?.

The Snapper - good points,

I think personally the development Dublin have put into development squads can not be matched by any county.
Drive past any club like Bridgets or Kilmacud and see hundreds of kids playing the game.

All Dublin have to do is find s handful of these kids and nurture them and you get talent
Like Mannion , Killkeny , and many more.

Kerry have tradition and we believe we will win but Dublins blueprint looks
really good.

Trow in massive revenue , Something like 28 development officers in Dublin.

It took 15 years for Dublin to get there act together by god they are there now.

how come win dublin won, they say classy performance by them and praise their attacking force, and in reports of kerry wins they don't heap has as much praise on them when they win by a lot

well done the dubs! you may say I'm mad but I as a Westmeath man can see positives in our performance. Dublin have such strength in depth, and have 30 supreme athletes. Ye guys bring alan brogan into that lineup and you will carve openings in the best defences and get goals. it's crazy seeing the likes of Brian Cullen on the bench, and bastick Is a great option at midfield, he brings a differant game to the centre. dessie for us was a huge blow at the last minute, we would not have won the game with him but it would have given the dubs another headache and it would've free'd up glennin a bit more and we would have gotten more scores. But that's the only thing I can say, I do think we can make progress in the knockout stages, I think our defence was strong at times and could hold most attacks to less than what Dublin scored, and I think our attack will have better days with dessie coming back it will free up the other lads. Kieran Martin, Paul Sharry, Glennon, Egan and Maguire were good for us today. For the dubs, Flynn was immense, The (fair) hit on Gaffey showed Another side to his game, and there's too many other performers to mention. Thought Kilkenny was quiet enough, but a very classy player, and I thought Andrews answered a lot of questions today.
Best of luck to the dubs here on in, I imagine ye have the Leinster, so can only hope ye take the all Ireland, beacuse the style of football played is open and honest, with the best quality in the country. As for Westmeath, I think with this game under the belt I think we can compete with the majority in the qualifiers. As pat Flanagan says, it's all about improving this team, and that's what has happened this year. Iarmhi Abu!
