royaldunne its like a conflict of belief and realism. We do feel that we can cause an upset, but like I said earlier Dublin are so dangerous if they get a run at you and get their tales up, you coan be 6 - 8 points behind before you know it. From midfield up I am confident we can compete, I am concerned about Dublin's dynamic forward line and the pace of the counter attacks. But Westmeath have a good running system that might be able to match them, I would imagine a high scoring game!

I'd offer you the same.

Doesn't mean I think we will win the all Ireland , But a 10 point victory over Westmeath is possible.

Dublin by 4 or 5. Imagine Dublin v Tyrone in the first round of qualifiers if Westmeath won ?!

Handicap is Dublin - 7. Reasonable punt I would have imagined. Westmeath won't fold like Limerick and Tipp but Dubs on a going day could beat most teams by more than 7 points.

I actually think it's the least arrogant we've been before a championship opener. Very few cocky or arrogant posts on this thread.

Yes, but how many of the guys posting on this thread are purposely talking themselves down? Most of them from what I can see. It isnt really a good indicator.

So you think that all Dublin posters are secretly arrogant even though not many of them are actually displaying any arrogance!

That's defo one of your best ones yet!

The Master I talk to Dublin supporters daily we are all in the same boat no cockiness or arrogance were giving Westmeath and every other team 100% respect this year especially after last year when we took Laois and Mayo for granted.

Westmeath great asset is that they have as strong as midfield as dub something that neither kildare oe meath have. Id they push up on cluctons kick outs that is where they may have a chance.

I reckon if Dublin don't get out of the traps quick enough Westmeath could put them under a lot of pressure early on. However, should Dublin score a goal in the first 20 minutes it'll be a big psychological blow to Westmeath. If Dublin get a 4 or 5 point gap I think the flood gates will open.
