I have a sneaky suspicion for Dublin in this one.

I think we have a chance in this one, best team we've had since 04, dessie kicked 5 from play the last time ( allbeit against Carlow ) and when he plays well westmeath play well.

Liamwalkinstown what do you mean by the "Laois posse arrived"?? Laois won Leinster in 03 and we won it in 04 and apart from Meath 2010 its been all Dublin since. Anyways with regards the game Saturday night week I expect us to struggle. The pace of Div 2 is way off what Div 1 is. Look at the slaughtering Mayo gave Galway and the hammering Dublin dished out to Louth this time last year. I hope i'm wrong but i think we will do well to keep it under 10 points of a beating.

Dublin to hold them off, and pull away in the last quarter for a 8-10 point win. If they cant keep with derry they can forget about it. Good to see them back though, they have had some tough times.

Just going on what I've seen of Westmeath in recent years, they've been pretty well matched to Louth with only the kick of a ball (literally) between them in their numerous recent meetings in league and championship. Whilst Westmeath have probably moved away from Louth a wee bit, the hammering that Dublin handed out to Louth last year is still fresh in the mind and illustrated the gulf in class between the top 4 or 6 (depending on your view) and the rest.

This will probably be a game where Westmeath stick close to Dublin for 40 minutes until the Dubs find their stride and pull away for a comfortable victory. I'd love to be proved wrong as I think Leinster needs to be more competitive. Westmeath are a side who could well put a run together in the qualifiers if they can bring their league form into them.

If anything, the Div 2 side that impressed me most were Derry. They looked a big physical and fit side and it'll be interesting to see how they progress over the next year or 2.

A stern test in store for our defence and midfield but if we hit the net WM are in trouble. Hope CK is restored to the Dublin team we will need some creativity as I think a train and a bus will be parked in front of the WM goal.

In the interview after the Carlow game Pat Flanagan said we were in the process of contacting Dublin city council to see if we were allowed park our bus in the goalmouth. Hopefully we get the all clear and we don't get the hammering that we have coming.....
