Well I think its safe to say that Championship 2013 kicks off this weekend proper. What do people think the outcome of this one will be. Will it be a full house in Salthill???? maxitwist (Kildare) - Posts: 144 - 13/05/2013 17:38:31 1383226 Link 0 |
Will be no more than around 12-14k at this game. could this not go into the Connacht championship thread? Gaa_lover (USA) - Posts: 3609 - 13/05/2013 17:46:48 1383236 Link 0 |
I think this has the makings of a brilliant game. Mayo will probably have too much, I say Mayo by 5+ waynoI (Dublin) - Posts: 13654 - 13/05/2013 17:51:14 1383242 Link 0 |

Interesting match, Mayo if I'm pushed but have a sneaking feeling for Galway! realdub (Dublin) - Posts: 8748 - 13/05/2013 18:02:32 1383258 Link 0 |
Gaa lover, this tread is about the game this weekend Galway v Mayo and how people think its going to play out. The Connacht 2013 tread is not about one particular game, its a more general discussion of all Connacht teams. maxitwist (Kildare) - Posts: 144 - 13/05/2013 18:14:55 1383270 Link 0 |
Comfortable May win with Galway fading away in the second half. There's nothing to suggest that this team/manager have found any form following on the heels of a sputtering league campaign. festinog (Galway) - Posts: 3148 - 13/05/2013 18:25:35 1383281 Link 0 |
You wouldn't think the championship is starting Sunday. For once the gaa launch the championship with a big game but is hasn't been promoted at all. I think a very good game is on the cards. corkrebel (Cork) - Posts: 105 - 13/05/2013 18:49:36 1383295 Link 0 |
They are very confident around the pubs of Galway city, they think they will win by 8+ points. That arrogance will come back to haunt Galway. paddyogall (Mayo) - Posts: 5110 - 13/05/2013 18:51:39 1383296 Link 0 |
I shall look forward to this one, Galway by 3. brendtheredhand (Tyrone) - Posts: 10897 - 13/05/2013 18:54:00 1383297 Link 0 |
if mayo are to have any real title asperations they would want to be winning this one, galway have not been up to much for a long time! as_ky (Kerry) - Posts: 535 - 13/05/2013 19:43:27 1383335 Link 0 |

Good lad paddy, 9/10 for effort but I don't know what pubs you've been to. Public confidence in our senior gaelic footballers is at a new low. Any of your kind that I've had the misfortune of talking to in the last few weeks are adamant that you will beat us easily enough on Sunday. I do agree with them, but thats not the point... Confidence I can deal with but the Mayomen thinking they're cock of the walk coming into Pearse Stadium this Sunday will be hard to look at, but it would be even funnier if they went home with "their tails between their legs". ahsure. Salthill and that swirling wind coming in from the Atlantic will be worth 3-5 points to Galway. On paper this game shouldn't be as close as it is going to be. Even if an under strength Mayo put in an 80% performance they "should" be marching on to a semi-final with Roscommon. campbelltommy (Mayo) - Posts: 103 - 13/05/2013 21:52:23 1383476 Link 0 |
There should be a healthy enough following from Mayo anyway at the game. A county board official told me the stand in salthill is sold out mainly due to the season tickets holders. If the day is fine many more will turn up. yew_tree (Mayo) - Posts: 11563 - 14/05/2013 08:46:16 1383498 Link 0 |

Mayo by 4-6 points. Should pull away in second half. Mayo best team in Connacht by a distance. They are operating at a different level and will smother Galway. I hope im wrong! DLlegends (Donegal) - Posts: 503 - 14/05/2013 10:50:03 1383553 Link 0 |
