Leinster 2013

I'm with RoyalDunne and Muckross here.

Capitalist I would take a Leinster before the league title. Infact if I had to choose between Dublin winning against Tyrone in the league final 2 weeks ago, Or Dublin winning their first game in Leinster against Carlow/Westmeath, I'd pick the latter. That's just me however I respect your view.

Dont think having Dublin involved in the Leinster final V an other be it Laois or whoever is something different Dubbydave. Not very novel as The dubs have been Involved in the Final the last 10 years.
Be great to have a different pairing rather than the same old same old Dublin(no offence) V whoever. It would be great for the Leinster championship if there was a different winner would really bring it to life and sure the Dubs would come through the qualifiers anyway.

I'd take a leinster minor title over a senior league title, even back in the glory days that was my feeling. Anyway if the Leinster championship goes with form and the best teams win then it'll be a Dublin v Laois final, we have a chance of beating Laois but Dublin are already in the Leinster Final.

However if we get over Laois, we will beat Dublin, no doubt about it!

Well its thrown up some surprises already. Laois the fav by many on hear are out so are Westmeath, kildare got shock off offaly, louth have gone. Wicklow and meath play next weekend. Don't think Dublin will be beat, but who will be their opposition? Meath? Wicklow? Wexford?

Our best chance of winning Leinster is Kildare beating Dublin. A meath v kildare Leinster final would be something else.

I don't know how you can make out RD that Kildare got a shock from Offaly as we were always comfortably in control and won with a bi6t in hand.

Onthewhite. Think most observers was surprised at how close it was. When you look at offaly been beat by limerick in league final and the way they were brushed aside in Munster and hear was div 1 semi finalist. Think it was bit of a shock, tbh probably best thing for kildare going in v dub.

We were outscored by 6 pts to 0 when the game was in the melting pot after our 3 point burst after half time. Kildare led 18 to 12 with 2 mins left. Not that close, Offaly have put in a massive effort this year and you would have expected them to compete with Kildare, also Offaly keeper was brilliant in that game.
Personally think that Kildare will give Dubs a right rattle. But still see Dubs winning by 4.

Scores in Kildare-Offaly and Dublin-Westmeath games were almost identical with 10 mins to go. Difference is Dublin brought on subs who drove on and heaped on misery while Kildare already started boarding the bus home thinking job done. Would you really read a lot into scoreline differences when a team has lead throughout the game? It's if you scoring at the end to get yourself out of jail that you're in trouble and Kildare were never in that position.

Dh even in first half kildare seemed larthagic. But as I said that could be best thing going in v dubs. The best thing last year for meath was the under radar approach. Trust me id much rather scrape a one point win in aughrim than a ten point one, keeps lads feet on ground.

Wicklow will throw everything at meath down in aughrim and i think it will be close but meath to pull through.Semi-final against wexford will be a cracking match and could go either way they have been our bogey team over the last couple of years and it will be a big test of character for meath lyng keoghan matchup will be very interesting

Big psychologic test for kildare against the dubs huge game for them and a win could be the catalyst for further success but would expect dublin to win this one and win out leinster

reckon it could be meath v kildare...in the qualifiers haha hope not though

"You're going to have to take each game as it comes. But for Meath football, we have to be back challenging finals.

"I think it's very important and it's a minimum requirement for supporters and players alike that you do go back and contest finals."

For the 4 counties contesting this coming weekends matches, I feel there is a imperative that we show what football is all about. The dire games in Ulster (down v derry aside) has done untold damage to our great game. Leinster has been the shining light so far this year, apart from dubs one sided win all matches had good performance from participating teams. Football needs wexford, meath, Dublin, and kildare to show it can still be a beautiful game.
So despite my dislike for at least two of the teams playing. I wish them all well. Whats at stake is bigger than any one county. Leinster abu.

Ha Ha, I don't care if we play it on the ground for the whole match or play 15 goalkeepers once we win.

Pretty football is nice to watch, but it's even nicer to win. If if you can do both !!? You're just great : D

Kildare play a blanket defense and we hand pass a lot. Have done to some degree since Micko came in nearly twenty years ago. Meath have adopted a running game now after realising the traditional game was too inconsistent. Dublin won an All-Ireland with two defensive half-forwards. Wexford have nearly beat Dublin twice playing a very defensive game. What's so special about Leinster?
