04 no way I would never have been that confident with that Dublin team, plus I would never been 100% confident in an underage team. But this Dublin team will not lose to Westmeath you can all say what you like but it's not going to happen.

FWIW I'll make two predictions in Leinster

Dublin will be in leinster Final because they are better than anything on that side of the draw

Meath will not be in Leinster final because there are at least two teams better than them on their side.

Sedico ill agree with you on one thing id much preferred to have drawn kildare than laois or wexford and at a push even louth, but we are where we are. No easy path to final this year

I'd be surprised if Meath get to the LF, I'm expecting a Dub/Laois Final...

I disagree with those who think Dublin will be vulnerable first time out, I expect it to be quite the contrary.

Dublin probably played their best football in Leinster first time out against Louth last year, well it looked that way to me anyhow.

They beat Louth 16 points which is something no other team in Leinster would do to Louth. In fact Louth is quite capable of running all the other counties close or even beating them on a given day. So how is it that the likes of Laois, Kildare, Meath and Wexford can all put it up to Dublin yet Louth get hammered out the gate every time by them ?.

Longford beat Laois last year so there is no reason why Louth can't do likewise, playing them in O'Moore Park Portlaoise won't phase Louth,it's a great pitch and it's very good venue also.

Aidan O'Rourke has the boys in very good shape both mentally and physically, it's going to be a game and a half.

The only team who will get near beating Dublin in Leinster is Kildare, and I wouldn't rule that out!

ive nticed this before, even in 2010 after the leinster final Dublin hammered louth, I think its that when louth play Dublin they always seem to just roll over and take a beating, I think its just louths attitude to Dublin that is the reason why they always seem to get big beatings off Dublin where as if louth are playing meath they are always well up for it because they believe they can beat us but they dont believe they can beat Dublin.

I have to agree, Louth have a serious 'head' problem with Dublin. Need to sort that out!

Dublin to take all, they are miles ahead of the rest!
Kildare v Offaly = Kildare, who will give a good account
of themselves in Leinster, but won't beat Dublin.
Westmeath v Carlow = Westmeath, who have done well this
year, but not have the goods to beat Dublin.
Laois v Louth = Laois, Laois will then beat Wexford.
Longford v Wicklow = Longford who will then beat Meath
(who are very poor)

Longford v Laois in semi-final
Dublin v Kildare in semi-final
Dublin to beat Laois in the Leinster final.
Dublin (the form team in the country at the moment)to win Leinster yet again!

Laois impressed me last year. Had they been more clinical against Dublin they would have beaten them in that quarter final last year. They're very organized at the back and very physical all over the field. They beat Meath well last year and exposed our limitations up front. Laois won't fear Meath should we meet and I wouldn't be as confident as others should we play them.

Meath haven't looked very impressive this year but we were 2 or 3 times as bad last year and still made a Leinster final so its very hard to predict what we'll do this year. We're lacking 1 or 2 serious forwards as well as a proper midfielder while our defense is vulnerable as seen against Monaghan. On paper we're candidates for a first round exit but Meath always forget to read the script at Championship time. I still reckon despite being written off we'll make the Leinster final. If there's one team who can rain on Dublin's parade its Meath no matter how bad we are.. ;)

Thegatekeeper. Since we are so poor. And you are so confident longford will beat us, let's have a little wager.
If longford do beat us ill retire from hs, however if meath beat longford, you retire.
what you say gatekeeper???? Have we a bet?

I agree I think Laois will make the other side of the draw,3rd/4th year under mc nulty.
Dublin are the form team and the favourites after winning the league so it will be though for any other county in Leinster to claim the Delaney but lads this is championship football are any team unbeatable?
in the heat of championship footabll any team on their day with a bit of luck can turn over another..Lets hope that Leinster throws up good games and a few shocks.

Steady on royaldunne, I think Longford will beat a
poor Meath team, but I wouldn't bet my life on it!
Maybe you should accept that others have a different
opinion to yours and calm down lad! ;)
Why don't you throw your offer out to a few of the
Kildare lads, Im sure they would love to see the back
of ye! Lol

I hope your right !!

A question for Dublin fans, Leinster has become a bit predictable in the last 10 years with Dublin winning 7 of the last 10 leinster finals. It would be a good thing if a Louth or Longford won it that you cannot deny, However are you's like me in that you would rather boring provincials if it meant going through to the quarter final with a leinster medal in our back pocket even if it risks lower attendances etc ?

Not good for the GAA as a whole but good for Dublin, less games, less injuries and more recovery time!

I agree but teams in Leinster have to earn the right to win it, If Dublin cant be bet they will keep on winning it. I would expect Dublin to win it again this year and I wont be one bit happy if they don't!!

Gatekeeper, I just want to know on what your basing a longford win on? Simples.
On both teams league form??? Granted meath struggled and stuttered through it, but still achieved their objective, longford got relegated without getting anything on the board, not even a draw. Surely we are in better position than last year? But I recall you saying that wicklow would beat us first round too.
It seems like most of the uneducated views on hear you are basing how poor meath are on a glorified challenge match, where we were without ypoty nom keoghan, Carroll, burke, Farrell. And management only used subs that will not feature in championship or ones coming back from injury.
been a Tyrone man you above most should know never right off meath, after all Tyrone have never beat meath in championship football despite been favorites to do so on last couple of occasion.
So I gather you won't accept my offer??, perhaps not as confidential on reflection :)
