Liam Irwin's goal today one of the best I have ever seen in MacHale Park, an absolute cracker!

Well done Mayo. Westmeath up next. Any dates/venues sorted for these?

Helped by some shocking defending from us. Draw is opened up for Mayo now while we have to face the All Ireland favourites.

Yea could be a cracker, we've a few handy forwards and improving all the time, Tyrone were unlucky yesterday.

Would be nice to see Monaghan go all the way, its a county with a great tradition and has been off the radar for a while. Good to see Cavan and Monaghan doing well these days, long may it last. Ulster has great standards, we could all learn something from then, or did we already?

Scoring chances

Mayo 10 from 15 attempts
Roscommon 11 for 25 attempts

Possession

Mayo 35%
Roscommon 65%

We also hit the crossbar twice. Main stat says Mayo won by 3 and all the best to them they certainly weren't as wasteful as us and i think they will reach the final at least now.

just saw the minor quarter final fixtures ! baffled !! only one in croke to which suits kerry yet tyrone will have to travel twice and we all know how big a part supporters play . monaghan on a monday in longford makes even less sense travel twice in these recessionary times along with the number of monaghan folk who earn a crust over the border so cant travel monday myself being one .. can understand some logic to the matches involving leinster teams avoiding croke but at least a double header so some sense of occasion for young lads who have bust a gut all year to reach an all ireland 1/4 final to feel its a bit more than a nothing fixture where ya could hear a pin drop inthe stands .. imho either all minors played along with their respective senior teams or none do im sure there were options and no minor game on the sat in croke ?? at least if had been monaghan v tyrone followed by kerry v cavan it would seemed somewhat fair or even monaghan before their seniors on sat

so its Mayo, Roscommon, Tyrone and Monaghan. Connacht and Ulster. Early goals for Roscommon set them up for win over Kildare.

Very disappointing for Kildare. Listened to it on radio as I couldn't travel. Played with an extra man for second half but couldn't bridge the gap. Like the U21's a good achievement in winning Leinster but it's yet another game where we'll feel we should have done better.

Great for our minors to win today which will give the county a lift after the seniors losing on Saturday. First Monaghan men's team to contest a championship semi-final at any level for a while. After favourites Kildare losing the four remaining teams will all really fancy their chances. Mayo next is tough for us after a big win for them today, but it's a day to look forward to.

Magnificent display by our lads today in turning over hot favourites kildare. Anybodies from here on in. Inside word based on challenges that monaghan are the team to beat.
Must be tough to be a kildare supporter , teams continously being hyped up and falling flat on their face. Nice 1-2 for connacht teams today coming hot on the heels of liam hayes patronising and dismissive comments on tv3 yesterday.

Yeah, it's an experience. Can't control the hype though, we've won Leinster at U16, Minor, U21 and Junior this year and didn't follow that up by winning the All-Ireland (although Junior final is yet to be played). Still nice to win the province though and we have good players coming through.

Should be two great semis, seems to be four very good teams left. Tyrone battled very well yesterday especially to get back into the game in normal time with only 13 men. Kildare probably suffered by having a relatively handy provincial final, not sure if the overall standard in Leinster was as good as recent years, while the Rossies would feel they could easily have beaten Mayo. Would be great to see Monaghan push on and win it
