I wonder how our esteemed fellow poster TheMaster is getting on? I recall him being quite confident going into the competition. It would be interesting to hear how he's faring given his undoubted knowledge of all things GAA. Perhaps he may be a bit coy though and would be unwilling to divulge his current position....???

I wait with bated breath!

I'm on fire lately, 274 points. Top 50 in Dublin, top 200 in Leinster and about 550 national. 11 players left to play in provincial finals means I should move further forward aswell.

Yeah Karpackie Utd look to be goingw ell alright! ;-)

anyone else think that the rules should be changed. i dont like this idea that everyone can free transfer all their players just before the quarter finals. i think you should be rewarded for picking players who make it through to the latter stages. the current format is akin to having 2 seperate competitions. perhaps they should deduct points for transfers. say minus 5 points for every transfer. another idea would be to include all games including the qualifiers and no transfers allowed. what do people think ?

Have 271 but will need to do some serious surgery for the quarter finals. Might have let the heart rule the head when selecting Johnny Doyle as captain.

I agree completely, it is annoying that 13 or 14 of my players are pretty much guaranteed to be in the QFs but it doesn't really make a difference because everyone can make transfers anyway. They should give 2 or 3 maximum free transfers and then deduct points for each transfer after that.

I like the way that qualifier games don't count. It makes you have to essentially predict who you think will make each provincial final in order to gain maximum points. But then again thinking comes hard for some people.

I'd make a suggestion that you should be allowed to change your captain on a matchday basis. I have Cillian O'Connor down as mine. God only knows how many points he would have earned for me in the Galway, Roscommon and London turkey shoots! On reflection though I think he might have played against Galway but I was abroad for that game and didn't see/read about it.

I'd also limit the transfers allowed at QF stage to 3 with points being deducted after that for any additional ones made.

You are rewarded because you are picking up points along the way so I don't see your point.

Whatever about yer man in 1st place I think that 2nd and 3rd place are the same guy !

To be honest I wouldn't be surprised if it was the one lad after entering about half the teams for Achill.

The club on the island must be in desperate need of some new jersey's.

. yes but last year it was different. you couldn't start again from scratch before the quarter finals. this year most people will pick 2 each from dublin, mayo, donegal, kerry with possibly a player or 2 from cork, kildare, tyrone etc. now say for instance you were astute and picked players that were from a team that got bet in the early rounds but then made it into the quarter finals. (lets say Tyrone,Armagh, derry make it through) If you had those players in your team they would have only scored for you in one game, but you would think.. Ah Ha they have made it through to the quarter finals so they will start picking up points again , however all the other people will just be able to transfer those players in to their team once they know who the quarter-finalists are. so its not a game of judgement any longer. Another change I would like to see is the ability to see the history of each football player. i.e. what they have scored in every round and also a history of each competition player... just some improvements that would make the game more interesting

How would it be astute if you picked teams who were beaten early?

I don't see anything wrong with the competition to be fair, apart from doing useless myself, but I can hardly blame the rule book for that! It's fair to everyone.

Doing ok now myself, good week last week with Gooch (captain), Buckley, Goulding and Aidan Walsh all scoring well.

Brian White must have picked up loads of points as all the leading group of teams have him. The club scoring system is really silly. What chance have small clubs of winning that when its all about numbers and nothing more.

Yes the club table is stupid, they should just count the top 10 or compile an average, or something along those lines.
