Well played to Donegal so resourceful in front of goal and economical as Brolly would say , very clinical and take all chances that are presented to them which they need to considering the very little possession they have , they really go to town in their purple patches , now I expect Derry and Monaghan to really have a cut against them but its very hard to see Donegal being denied another Ulster title

tyrone were hardly outclassed lads, for the majority of the match they looked the better team! the 2nd goal knocked the stuffing out of them, with the goal coming from a questionable free kick out the field! referee had a bit of a shocker to, the more professional team won, but tyrone will be back!

1387296 Another big performance is long over due for Donegal

They currently have better players than Tyrone and while Tyrone appear to have closed the gap

Donegal are still further down the road... and have more quality.

Tyrone will struggle big time up front. Donegal wont have the same struggle and will simply score more than Tyrone.

Donegal just need to keep 15 men on the pitch and not get involved

It will be a thumping affair but they need to play like AI champs and keep the head...

Donegal will beat Tyrone by 4+ points

---------------------

Spot on. I'd say.

Apart from Tyrone closing the gap.

It's on the score board that it counts. Tyrone may have had more possession, but that is part of Donegal's master plan, as when they win the ball back they counter attack and score at will. Donegal gave Tyrone a lesson in how to play this system, it was over with 10 minutes remaining. Tyrone were outclassed, simple.

Finally, evident from the telly was the severe jeering of Donegal supporters, now I know Tyrone has some dark stories of discipline and behaviour up their side but I thought Donegal supporters were just going over the top, even when a bit of handbags began the Donegal lads (including Jim McGuiness at one point) were on the feet getting very aggressive, I thought Donegal well worth the win but a poor showing from the fans.

I think that if the tyrone keeper had not started the craic with the hands up to his ears at the beginning, the fans would not have been on his case as much. Talking about the game, I think Jim Mcguinness has really been vindicated about the league and saving his players. I look forward to the next game, and think that Tyrone will surely rally in the back door, they deserve another chance to vindicate themselves as they are one of the best teams in the country.

Its hard to see Donegal being beaten this year as Tyrone hardly got a sniff despite having
loads of posession.Plus they seem to have a stronger panel this year and were only strenghtened
by the subs. Who ever beats them wins Sam.

Delighted with that result. Tyrone dominated for long periods, but delighted with how Donegal wore them down. The goals came at crucial times, to put them ahead before half time and after Tyrone had hit a couple of bad wides.

I still think Tyrone could have a big say later in the year, and good luck to them in the qualifiers. For ourselves, will be tuning in next weekend to see whats up next for us.

Who was your man of the match? McBrearty seems obvious to me. Delighted to see him so strong today. I didn't think he contributed much last year, but obviously he's going to keep improving.

Any other suggestions? McFadden was useful too.

Paddy McBrearty is a class act, going for 3 USFC titles before he's 21 years of age, serious going. Perhaps this year the huge injustice he suffered at not getting the young player of the year award will be rectified.

Big plus from todays game was that we seemed to not panic, and Tyrone were the ones to become ragged and frustated in the 2nd half. We could have folded in days gone by when Tyrone equalized. But we didnt. I think that it would be foolish of me to pick holes in the weak links, they are a sum of the parts, and there is no question that the team is going to improve as the year pushes on. Big find is Wherity he took his goal very well,, and of course our 3 full forwards too. Great time to follow donegal gaa

Thought it was a poor game with a poor atmosphere, Tyrone left it behind conceding two soft goals and missing scoreable frees. Also didn't like the soccer-eque chanting from the home crowd.

Look im not been disrespectful to Tyrone, but that was one of the most comprehensive wins ive seen in a long time. Very few teams will worry if they were to draw Tyrone in qualifiers.
Tyrone threw everything at the league in hope of it paying dividends in championship, but leaving aside playing in div 1 very few other teams made a effort to win it, including dub, who you have to wonder how awesome they are going to be when they take games seriously. The league means nothing as was proved today by wicklow, London donegal and to lesser extent louth.

I'm sure Cillian OConner would swap Paddy McBrearty's Celtic Cross for the Young player award.
Its only a consolation prize.

On way home from the game now. Great win, certainly a closer game than the score line suggests but the goals came at the right times. Morgan certainly had a disappointing day at the office from a Tyrone point of view. Good to see McBrearty bring his club form with him to the county team.

On the subject of the Donegal supporters, I was a bit frustrated with some of the jeering going on around me and the cheering when Joey McMahon saw the line. Probably some mitigating factors especially with the treatment Murphy got when he was sent off in Healy Park a couple of months ago. But at the end of the day it's better to rise above it and no need for that silly stuff.

On to the semis and ill not hear anyone say that Ulster is as good as won. Any complacency in Ulster and you get dumped out on any given day. But it's certainly great to get over the first hurdle

Goals win games plain and simple, they decided the AI Final the last two years. Was very surprised that the Donegal forwards were able to ride the tackle in the Tyrone danger zone very unlike a Tyrone defence. Wouldn't be too hard on Morgan for his gesturing to the crowd he was obviously getting dog's abuse before he done it and he is only a young fella. Can't believe there was people preaching from the roof tops that Cluxton was being knocked off his perch by this young pretender he isn't a patch on Cluxton at the moment and he may never be.

Congrats Donegal that was awesome, Tyrone ain't gone yet worrying how they seemed to crumble mentally tho.
